"Best amp I have ever played...for sale"

Anytime I sell something it's because I don't like it or want to try something else.
I don't use bullshit excuses or lies, sometimes I just want a change and I have sold alot of stuff I really liked but it always gets replaced with other gear that I want, I don't sell guitars as much as amps because once I get a guitar I really love I tend to get attached to it.
Selling amps is easy to replace for me. After owning alot of amps I decided my uber and slash 2555 are keepers and I plan on keeping them and if I sold anything it would be my engl.

The real question is why anyone would feel the need to tell a story when they sell something at all ?

The problem is nowadays everyone makes stupid trade offers when you list an amp for sale...so you almost have to tell a story to keep them at bay.

I lost my job and I'm still kicking and screaming to keep my Camerons. Not sure how much longer I can hold out, but I am doing my best.

Sorry to hear that brother!!! Give me a ring if you have a moment to chat

I mean really, WTF is that about?

Emergency situation understood.

People search and search, find it, and sell it

That is an easy one for me. The best amp I have ever played or owned is a Fargen Bordeaux. I still have it but at one point I had two of them, both were equally bad assed. I sold one because I am a gigging musician and joined a band that need an enormous amount of tones. It was a successful cover band that did everything from the Jackson 5 to Nickelback(don't kill me...it paid *very* well). I had to sell it in order to fund a more versatile amp that was able to cover this wide array of tones. Enter the Mesa Boogie RoadKing I. I used the Boogie for years but eventually that band called it quits and I found myself in another band with different requirements. Hence, my beloved Boogie is currently for sale.

I make good money, but have family responsibilities that prevent me from having 6 or 7 amps, and truth be told I cannot fathom having a Roadking with a 4X12 in my living room. Sorry guys, but that is insane.

The bottom line with me is that, as a gigging musician, an amp is a tool. Nothing more. And different jobs require different tools. My personal preference in tone is my Fargen Bordeaux but that amp just doesn't do modern tones, it is *way* more of a vintage classic rock sound. My job as a musician requires me to use a different tool, hence the Boogie or an Elmwood 90 that I have being delivered on Monday.

One more thing. If there is one thing I have learned in all my years of gigging it is this....

Often, a player hears a certain tone in his head and searches for that tone. They eventually find it. They take that tone to a rehearsal only to find out that the tone in their head either does not mesh well with their band or gets completely buried in the mix. This is what happened to me with my Bordeaux. The amp sound glorious recording or jamming at home, but in a full band mix with a drummer and bass player is tends to get lost in the mix. It isn't a volume issue, the amp has plenty of power, but is really fat and thick sounding. When played with a bass player and a keyboard player it gets lost.

I also rather enjoy 'I will own another some day!!!!'
then why get rid of it if it's 'so good?'

I think people are afraid to say they don't like something when they're trying to sell it..as if that'll taint the item they're trying to sell and prospective buyers will be scared to throw money at it..

...I've got better things to do with my money

Like buy another Cameron?

:hys:

I recently sold my Cameron Aldrich. It is still a killer amp and I only sold it to get something else. It doesn’t mean it sounds any worse because I sold it… The new owner loves it and knows it is a good one. Heck, I had it for 3 years myself... ;)

The real cause for concern is when people buy and sell it within a few weeks. Makes you wonder how "killer" it really is/was
I also just sold a Cameron amp that was a good one. I know 1st hand Dave's true intentions on letting his Cameron go and that was to gain another killer piece of gear and the guy that got his amp is Happy, so no harm no foul.
I let my white Cameron go to Todd because I got to a point that I knew I had other Cameron amps and I just asked myself ' HOW MANY CAN I PLAY AT ONE TIME?' I also wanted to gain another piece of Killer gear so I moved an amp that I felt I could live without. And I got two more to go in it's place.

"HOw many amps can I play at one time" is not an option!!!! :D I plan on collecting as many Marshalls as I can or modded Marshalls
Yo Ray G. is selling a 68 small box...
