So that original C7 cap is still attached by 1 leg, correct?
But basically is no longer part of the circuit?

THANKS!

i'm uploading the video now, but it says 174 minutes to complete...so watch it afterwhile. lol

I’m new to the Carvin x100b and wondering if you are still playing it and in this forum? Thx

I believe what is meant is to lift one leg of the cap, leaving the other leg attached to board. Then solder in-line to the lifted leg of C7 with the cap the resister/cap parallel combo. This means solder one end of resistor/cap combo to lifted leg of C7, then other end of resistor/cap combo to where C7 lifted leg was originally going and lifted from. Now your signal path is C7 -> resistor/cap combo -> terminate to original C7 point (where leg of C7 was lifted)

i got the old x100b tolex version as part of a package with a SUPER ugly (like someone wrote "i'm going to fucking kill you" or something to that effect in giant, fat, permanent marker on the side, then someone tried to wash it off, and just smeared it everywhere) 70's marshall fawn colored 4x12 with the original black backs for $400 total from someone living in a small house, and i think his gear was the only thing in the house. got drug fiend vibes... this was in 2003-4 ish...
anyway, that fucking amp SMOKED. with an sd-1 in front of it, it sounded like the best jcm 800 style tones from classic albums. Every other x60 or x100b i got after that one sounded terrible. the ones with the rat fur and the "hot mod" or whatever, were worse.

were those known for being super inconsistent or something?
