I'm going to add fuel to the gas... i bought a 50watter in white tolex 2 weeks ago or so and it friggin' RIPS!!!! Playing this thing through a oversized bogner 2x12 cab.. i used to own a 101b xtc and the similarities CAN be heard overall tone wise, the bogner being darker/chewier and the evh being brighter/tighter soldanoish tone. Honestly... scarily good and close tones can be had. The evh is in my top 5 fav amps owned throughout the many many amps i have previously tried/owned.. it is that good. That is in direct comparison to the likes of SLO/Bogner XTC/Mesa road king/Mesa mark v/iv/iii red stripe/ marshall JVM410H//Framus cobra//modded jcm800//peavey 5150//custom audio//splawn.
Incredible gain, i usually run blue at 12-1 o clock gain wise and red channel 9-10 o clock, LOTS of huge sounds to be had out of this thing. I cannot believe the "bang for the buck" this amp has.. i really think this is a game changer... where else can you get a 3 channel amp that sounds so amazing for $1000?! Seriously??
