I'm 43 and have seen an electric guitar at a catholic mass only once that I can remember, and it was at university and it never happened again in the years I was there.

I played exactly one church gig in my life as a sub for a guitar instructor of mine who was roman catholic. It paid well and was easy but it was the mid 90's and I used a plexi and a 2x12 closed back Fender piggyback cab. It was for a weekday event rather than sunday liturgy.

what was the verdict on the Nano?

It was great sound wise. I ended up selling it right before the huge update that added more blocks, etc. I wanted more flexibility. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a compact solution. The PBC6 made it easy to use live.

One of the guys in my band does two sunday services at a mega church. They pay really well and he plays like 3 songs per service which works out to about $50 per song but he says they do not even recite the Lord's prayer once. I found that disturbing. I would never be able to take a gig like that.

The thing about "mega churchs" is that, being non-denominational typically, their theology and worship is totally dependent on where you go. There's zero quality control of any sort.

My general take is that if service doesn't involve the lord's prayer and communion, believers aren't baptized, or the priest running it wouldn't profess at least the vast majority of the Nicene creed and the scriptural status of the four gospels and Acts, then I don't think whatever's going on is a Christian church. It's something else. But that said the authority to decide that doesn't lie with me.

If you're ever in the wilderness and drink downstream from a spring's source you risk consuming harmful contaminants, which generally are multiplied the further away you choose to drink. That's my summation of the last 1000 years.
