Have you considered getting a Suhr Reactive Load? It makes recording amps at home a breeze and it sounds fantastic.

I have plenty of experience with IRs, and if I need to do it quickly that's always an option.

But refining mic technique (while getting my music demo ideas down) is the idea here.
