Did I over react? Ebay content

I sold a pedal this morning. I shipped said pedal. I bought a pedal this morning. Said pedal was shipped out to me this morning. Not that complicated. I understand a guitar is a helluva lot bigger deal to ship….but damn…how the fuck can I buy a guitar from Japan on Thursday and have it the following Wednesday? It’s not that complicated to do.
It starts with caring :D

No excuse for sloppy. Can't email/text = sloppy.
Sloppy will not survive at any level of consumerism. You didn't overreact. Transactions have a minimum level of responsibility. If you starve as a seller your in the wrong line of work.

If this was TGP, you would be getting flamed right now.
Not sure about that. I think the standard etiquette anywhere is that you don't send tracking of you don't intend to even pack your item and take it to the carrier for another week, not to mention there's still no movement as of today on either.shippimg or refund at week 2. I'm not their damn payday loan lender. Since we're now past the estimated delivery date Ebay has given them until Monday to address this.

I speak from experience.

The hippies come out and go "chill man" and "cut him some slack man" and "have a little patience, you never know what people are going through man'.

And I respond by saying that the sellers problems are not my problems. If you want to charge guitar store market prices, be professional and at least make an effort

I work a full time day job, wind 5-10 pickups a week as a side business, have time to workout 3 times a week and take 2 kids to practices during the week and games on the weekends and still communicate and make myself available to customers any time of the day, every day. There's no excuse for not having a few minutes to draft an informal email of what your intent is. If one has no value to add.as a seller, why should one be able to charge the same price as a legit brick and mortar store? Prices keep moving up, but the products and especially the services are subpar

The ass hats are the reason for higher fees and draconian policies and why people refrain.from online purchases.

You'd be surprised how understanding people are if you're just honest with them. There's been several times that I've run behind, but have always communicated that at or before my committed dates and apologized for delays. And that's without even collecting money for orders up front.

Ebay should never mask negative feedback either. They enable this bullshit.

: Rant off:

Feedback from over a year ago doesn’t get counted.

I’m think they sold it for a lot less then they wanted and are hoping you will just ask for a refund so they can relist it.
So, the seller has relisted the item for $300 more than what I purchased it for AND HAS NOT initiated a refund no would think that since the guitar is under contract, they cannot legally or least policy wise sell the guitar. I called ebay this morning and they say they cannot do anything until next regarding the refund. At this point, I done with ebay. They enable this bullshit, when they can read the messages where the seller clearly states they never sent it.

I'm wondering if I should flag the auction as fraudulent?

The seller is looking for any way out with you.... I'd report it. Just keep in mind the seller has your name and address. There are lots of crazy people out there who enjoy doxing people. I hate to say it, but getting your money back ASAP and moving on is the best thing at this point.

I'd listen, after all, a pysccho would know.

But that's what I've asked for, was to refund my money and move on. I formally initiated the refund request process, but they said I have to wait because the item shows "shipped" and I have to wait for carrier BS. I've been on the phone with ebay twice and they confirm they can see all the messages where the seller explicitly states they haven't shipped. The fact that they relisted it should be enough for them to step in now, to either force the refund or take down the relisting until the current contract of sale is closed.

I'm not worried about doxing

I have had some times where I've sold something or got it boxed up, shipping label on and life gets hectic for a couple days then not be able to drop it off for a couple days. I try to make it right as much as I can. I definitely don't do anything to a seller that I wouldn't want done to me but we all have our different boundaries. Having said that ebay is sketchy and he already has two instances of ripping people off outright. One is too many IMHO.

I work a full time job and go to school full-time so I completely understand that sometimes life happens but there is no excuse to outright rip someone off.

Sounds like the old short-term loan trick..

But, I don't think Ebay pays you until said package is delivered, but I could be wrong. I told Ebay to fuck off 15 years ago when they started holding your money for 3 weeks for absolutely no good reason.

I wish that was the case, I'm not difficult to work with.

Scott, sorry your dealing with this and no you are absolutely not over reacting or whatever. It baffles me how in the hell people do business this way! No box, life event..whatever.... communication is key!!!! I know I dont have to tell you how important that is and it goes a long way when your buying/selling anything anywhere.

I just bought a book on Ebay, "Guitars of the Stars". Not only did Ebay notify me that it shipped with the tracking, but the seller sent me a message to give me the tracking and to also thank me for my business. Sure he didnt have to, and some people dont see it as a big deal, but its small things like that that make a big difference in a transaction. Wish more people would care as much. Good luck.

In our dealings you have been super helpful and easy to deal with. You had a gut feeling and it was correct. That guy is either scamming or just wasn't happy with your bid. I just avoid Ebay. I think I missed the heyday of ebay deals. I made a bid on an FZ2 around 2011 and I got it for $75 the guy wouldn't honor it because I didn't have enough reviews(I had already paid him so not sure what the complaint was). Basically he wanted to get the 200 or 250 that they were going for.. To me if you win an auction you win an auction.
