The man is amazing. Now that I am exploring something other than chugga-chugga wuggy-wug weeee I have truly come to appreciate his influence.

I've gotta go with Steve Lukather. I really love his playing. But then you have guys like Erik Rutan from Hate Eternal or Pat O'Brien from Cannibal Corpse on the more brutal side of playing. And nobody can play metal rythm guitar like Hetfield...

But still...Luke...yeah, he's the one.

+1

I appreciate his playing quite a bit. In fact, I have really gotten hooked to the rockibilly/psychobilly genre. One of these days I would love to try out a Gretsch!

For me its gotta be Doug Aldrich. But depending on what day you ask me, it could be Aldrich, it could be John Norum or it could be John Sykes.

Those are my number 1 players.. they share my number 1 spot!
For me, Neal will always be number one, however, I have an ASSLOAD of Number 2's

Hank Shermann - no one mentioned in this thread can match his riffage - and his solos are pure awesome

David Gilmour.

He says more with 5 notes than most people can in a whole song. Just ridiculous.
