So interesting that Sprtan said that the Mark series made him feel like he had to dig in. I've always felt like the Mark series plays itself and very little pressure from my fingers is needed.

picked it up today. New unit.
Currently quite shocked, because it sounds like a blanked over it. Have to crank treble and presence like crazy/dime it. To get a bright enough sound.
Not sure if it might be faulty…

Put a 33 in front and it will speak to you

Try to put some hours on your new Recto. I often hear the claim, that new amps start to change in feel after 50 to 60 hours or so.

Ampbuilders like Friedman and Shur say that amps change after a while. Mesa usually burns their amps in for 24h but that`s rather to weed out the bad eggs. After and additonal 50h, everything should be "stable"

The Reissue Triple I played seemed rather lifeless. It lacked saturation and that classic Rectifer low-mid growl. It didn't seem dark, though. Had a decent amount of clarity. Tried an original Rev G Triple as well and it sounded kinda similar to the Reissue Triple. Overall, didn't like 'em. The Duals seemed better.

This is also my experience owning 4 rectifiers at the moment.
The dual’s saturate faster and especially the 2 channels feel more organic, loose but also easier to work with than the 3 channels. With a good bias and boost they are really tight and full sounding.

I don't have a grasp on all the revisions, but I owned a 1999 Dual Recto and now own the 2010 "Reborn" model, both purchased new, year of release. The 1999 was more squishy and the 2010 is tighter and stiffer.

I thought the same as SPRTAN on the Triple Reissue so I dug in and checked the preamp tubes on the tester!! Two of them were questionable so I swapped them out and WOAH!! Woke it right up!!

The RI is not angry pissed off like my Multi-watt Triple but has its own sweet thing going on!!

Still need to dust off the Rev G Triple and compare!!
