All I heard was the internal bias ones were made in Germany (by Germans, supposedly
) The newer external biased are made in China (by, I would imagine, Chineese ) Not sure what version is what, did hear they made 5 revisions fwiw.

My Old one was SMOKING HOT!! About as CRISP AND TIGHT and as METAL as you can get!!

i own a dragon.and i love the amp,crazy amount of bass but it does alot ,im always suprised that i dont see that much interest in them. having owned a engl fireball,i honestly like this head way better

Yeah man, These heads don't get much credit. I have to admit it was fucking cool. Totally blows the Powerball and the Fireball 60 out of the water! Hands down the Dragon is a better amp.
and the bass is retarded.

How do you process the signal from amp for the subs? I assume they're not just plug 'n' play. Do you lug those onto stage or just appreciate them from the studio/home? Hey Thanks man! Don't get me started on the ISP subs, hehe. I get too excited talking about them. If God took them away from the planet tomorrow, I would stop playing guitar. How bold of a fucking statement is that! You have to experience the sub to appriciate the sub.On the more technical side of things, they add a whole new dimension to guitar, 3D type sound for a crushing tone. Allow me to dial my amp in for more cut and still maintain the Brootz.

If you are a low end junkie then this is your crack. I swear to everthing holy that once you try it you will kill motherfuckers to keep it. The subs do not put a load on your amp, so you don't have to change your impedence on your amp when using them. It can be hooked up 2 ways. Straight out of head into the sub and then use the speaker out on the sub into your speaker cab. When used this way it utilizes the internal crossover to send highs and mids to your speaker cab and lows to your sub. Or, you can come out of your head into the sub and out of your head into your cab. When doing this you get full frequncies to your cab and lows to sub, I preffer it this way. It fucking crushes when used this way. Hope this makes sense and am happy to answer any other ? you have about the subs

there is doesnt seem to be much framus love on rig talk.
ive owned the cobratop , cobra and dragon cab, played the dragon top...purely for metal...the cobra is perfect...lots of tight percussive thud but if could choose again i would pick the dragon. i really like how framus made their amps voiced for diffrent speakers cobra (especially its crunch channel) paired for greenbacks and the dragon for V30s. also love that they use EL34s...as IMO its harded to design/make a high gain metal monster with these tubes.
but i have this 30W framus + matching 2x12 (with mismatched V30 and Greenback speaker) no one seems to have this amp (some ruby riot combo owners thou) and i love it. it responds really well with a boost.
not the first go to amp for metal/brootz but i find it more musical and responsive for other styles

I have an early Cobra head and the crunch and lead channels do sound fairly similar, just the lead has a bunch more gain. One thing about the Cobra, you've GOT to have the Cobra cab with the Greenbacks. That half stack sounds kick butt, but with any other cab you don't get near the effect.
2 questions since we've got the Framus boys congregated......
1. What is the deal with the "blackface" mod to the silver panels on the Cobra? I can't find any info.
2. I heard one time about someone modding the amp to accept KT88's, anything out there about that? Anyone tried it?

I really did not like the KT88's in my Cobra, it lost some of that kick ass mid grind they have. It was a bit clearer and a little more thump on the bottom end but not enough to make me want to keep them(besides, it's not like a Cobra lacks bottom end). I preffered the EL34's. Also knew a guy that ran 88's in his for 6month with no issues. Hope that helps.
