Ok guys, got the Framus Dragon today. Gonna try it out at practice tonight and report back. It does say "Made in Germany, Markneukirchen" So, idk about the chinese therory(pun intended). I will pull it out of the shell in the next couple days and see if it has the pot for preamp noise and see if it is stamped china anywhere.

I bought a Dragon few months ago. The crunch channel boosted is really nice, lead channel is one of the best ive heard, it really sings. I find it a bit too saggy/compressed whatever tho, im more of a vht fanboi. This is why im selling my dragon right now to fund a cl100 already purchased. If I had enough money id keep it and be set for years with my actual amps but I cant afford to keep that one atm

Right on Matt! Welcome to the forum. I am really liking this Dragon, much better than the Cobra for my taste. But I still love the shit out of my Ultra Lead. VHT/Fryette definately not saggy or loose amps. Very tight and focused. It's nice to have options

Is anyone else's Cobra really noisy? Mind hisses a ton and feeds back easy.

Well, on the older models they had an adjustment pot on the same board as the preamps tubes are mounted on. You could adjust the preamp "noise", kinda cool. Don't know the technical term for the pot/function but it does lower the hiss and noise. IDK if the newer ones have that adjustment or not. The pot looks identical to the bias adjustment pot so be carefull not to go cranking on that pot instead. :D Have you swapped out the preamp tubes with something else to see if that is causing your noise?

Mine has the Doug's Tubes tone kit in it, and sounds killer, so I figured the amp was just a noisy one. I'll open it up and see if I can find that pot.
Well I just opened up mine and no hum pot. :( Did just realize that mine is a V5 with external bias points, I've owned the amp for over a year and just noticed the points.

I clicked back and forth from the crunch and lead channels, and confirm that on mine both channels sound pretty damn identical.

And.... for the first time I boosted my Cobra with a TS808 and holy crap.... BIG improvement.

Anyone else see a hum trim pot?
