Gear just ain't moving eh?

At least he made an offer. I wouldn't even click on the ad.

Put it up for sale here at a reasonable price. If you get an offer at all, it will be way more insulting than anything CL can throw your way.

I don't think $200 for that is reasonable, either. Upgrades to a Squire aren't going to add significant value, not on an entry level instrument. If you guy $150 for it I'd be happy.

People can't even spell SQUIER properly (even on here), you can't expect them to read your ad correctly.

Seriously, why can't people read the headstock? Do they think Fender goofed, and just let it go for 30 years? It puzzles me.

That just shows you how people could GIVE A SHIT LESS about that brand. Yeah, I misspelled it....just because I don't give a fuck about a SQUIRE. See, what I mean?

Well to me, I look at it like this.

If you're average CL Cheap Fuck went and bought that new, and put upgraded tuners on it, they would be out $300 or so. The stock tuners are basically absolute shit. I know they don't look at it that way.

But I'm not losing my shirt on the thing. I'm tired of it, that is giving cheap fucks deals. I start thinking about fists and broken teeth when I think about it. I always give people what they ask. I don't haggle. I make good money and don't have to. I'm not desperate to sell it, so buy mine or don't bother me and go buy a new one.

Mine is basically brand new.

I know I might come off as a bit unreasonable. But I'm at a point in my life where I've wasted a lot of money on gear and I'm sick of eating it.

Fists and broken teeth?

You don't come off as unreasonable, you come off like a fucking retard.

In all seriousness, your attitude is shit; if you don't like an offer, fucking ignore the offer, don't be a jackass.

I guaran-fucking-tee you wouldn't run your mouth like that in person; stop doing it from behind a keyboard.

You're talking about a $200-$300 guitar...seriously?

Oh but I would say the same thing in person and I'm not afraid to either. Yes, I am an assole and a retard. Seems folks want to turn this into an internet fight, that was not my intention with the thread. I didn't say anything to offend you, or personally attack, so ease up.

Well, that's what it's listed for now. See, I listened. My price was high, I appreciate the input, price is lowered. Yeah, I know it's a Squier. It's my bass and I'm not giving the thing away for free, that's it.

My original intent of the thread was that it seems like shit is not selling. I've always listed things the way I do, I've just never seen it so bad.

If people lowball me or make an offer that is just downright insulting, on RT, Reverb, wherever, I won't even give them the courtesy of responding. Let them sit and wonder for awhile if they're gonna get a steal at my expense. Fuck em.

I bet you have no trouble spelling Ibanez PRESTIGE or Epiphone ELITIST, though!

I have to say it took me by suprise when I sold my MarkV for what I was asking selling these days is a wait wait then wait some more give up and then it sells game lol.

If you buy something with an attitude that "well, I'll just sell it if I don't like it" you're gonna lose. Unless you get it from GC or somewhere that has a good return policy....all my recent guitars lately have come from them...and a few have gone back. Keeping one for sure.....

I imagine with things like the axefx - choice has never been so big for buyers.

So demand for each item is reduced resulting in reducing of price.

Potentially

Lets be honest. It's difficult right now to sell good gear. It's nearly impossible to sell junk. Unless he wants to sell his squirrel for $free.99, it will be his to keep.

I have good luck at The Gear Page, just sold a head/cab and a amp last week.
Did I take a hit, of course!
It's the reality of the situation.
IMO people want way too much for used gear so drop your prices and quit bitching ;)
Think twice before you buy something and do some research and buy stuff that moves
or shut the hell up :gethim:
You just have to accept the fact that the buyer is the cat in the birds seat.

Yup. Ebay = lots of fees, but much exposure, Gear page, others, must be patient or just lower the price.

Been selling on Ebay for about 12 years, and stuff that was uber-rare (like it would be the only one that I found in a decade) is VERY hard to move in the last year or so...
Patience has paid off though, just wait for the right buyer.

Biggest problem with gear not moving is unreasonable pricing...like in this post. Still, if the seller said it was firm I would have respected that and not made an offer.

Was looking at a qsc k10. Mint. guy wanted $650. Well, they are $699 all day long new. Less if I get a coupon at GC or somewhere. Know what mint means to me? It means used. Fucking used musical gear depreciates big time with rare exception. Still, I didn't low ball they guy. His shit can sit there till' hell freezes over and he can complain about gear not moving. Price it for $400 bucks and watch it move.

+1

Ive bought and sold a bit on CL and buy off ebay.

Ive made solid deals.

Any squire is a $100 guitar on a good day.

Good gear sells itself.

I dunno... I've sold three amps (Cameron Aldrich for $2100, Cameron Standel for $1600, Brown Note D'Lite 22 for $1200) and a guitar (GMW Rhoads V for $1700) in the past three weeks. You just have to be realistic about what the market will bear right now or keep stuff, I guess... Personally, I just wanted to clear out some stuff that is just taking up space that I never use...

Still have three guitars left to sell...

Steve

I think its just because most of you are trying to sell old man gear nobody wants for too much money. I've had zero issues selling anything. Usually all sells in a month or two tops.

Even my weird Teuffel just sold after 2-3 weeks...
