Hetfield is a talentless low IQ prick

If you gave me the choice of listening to Roger Water's solo albums or new current Metallica, I would choose Waters every time. Metallica in their prime -- totally different comparison.

Interestingly though, both Metallica and Waters had a great way of creating concept albums. Waters was certainly a huge part in that.
prime floyd vs prime metallica is a bit more tricky though!
well don't decide. great to have so different music for totally different moods.
i know to which music i'd rather make love to;)

Strange that a man like roger waters, who has been around the world, doesn't get the point of view James Hetfield expressed at that concert.
i mean you don't have to agree, but even my dumb ass gets all the points of views in this thread. from lester, floyd to DanTravis, they are all valid from their perspective.

roger doesn't seem very commie to me. The way he talks about nick mason, he sure wasn't about equal pay in pink floyd

I mean is there a single person on earth who's surprised that the guy who endlessly spouts communist propaganda like he's part of pravda is a giant hypocrite? :hys:

Surely, that's never happened in the history of ever!

No, no I have most certainly not. Ever. And never will. Not even in hell.

You have no idea how lucky you are - you know the trope in 60-70s television where the parent asks the child to do his chores/homework/eat his greens, and the child throws a tantrum and says "Awh Pa! I wanna go outside with the fellas and play ball" ?

That's basically all it is, some stoned hippies whining about how SoCIeTy Is UnFaIR and how bad the world is, completely unaware that they were living in the time of the greatest human wealth and prosperity in earth's history. It's typical boomer selfishness tempered with a child-like tantrum, on drugs. It's like a monument of why western civilization is falling into chaos - because selfish, intellectually stunted hippies ruined it.

Well, since we're bashing Floyd, I will say that I don't understand why Dark Side of the Moon was their most popular album. The cover? It's good, but I'd rather listen to Meddle, Wish You Were Here, Animals, or even the Wall.

Dark Side of the Moon was definitely a masterpiece there's no doubt.
But they're best album is Animals and it's not even close

A guy named Phil dies and goes to hell. Satan greets him and tells him he gets to choose from one of 3 doors to his eternal hell. Behind the first door is a room full of guys with meat gravy on their nutsacks getting lowered slowly over a pit full of ravenous dogs. Behind the second door, Satan's assistant is breaking people's bones with a sledge hammer. Behind the 3rd door is guys up to their necks in shit drinking coffee listening to Metallica. Phil immediately chooses the 3rd door. As Satan shuts him in he says "Break is over, back on your heads and change the station back to Pink Floyd!" Phil says "Fuck I should have chosen one of the other doors!"

You forgot the fourth, unnamed door. A 10 minute real life conversation with the Kid, then eternal happiness in heaven. No one ever chose door #4.

As for the music comparison, which thankfully is what most replies here refer to, I am not really a Metallica fan. If we are comparing all PF output from The Wall and earlier, I will take that over any Metallica. If we are talking about PF after The Wall, I will take Metallica if we're talking about the first 5 or 6 albums. If we are talking about Roger Waters from The Final Cut or after, I will take any Metallica over that.

That settles it, we'll just listen to Freddie King instead.
