Hetfield is a talentless low IQ prick

Wow, crazy that Roger has so much transcendent genius and hasn't written any music of any fucking significance whatsoever in 45 years.
That’s because Lester is wrong. Waters was the primary songwriter on The Wall. Not all the other PF albums.

If by "a big part" you mean he was one of the 4-5 guys that were there - sure

If you mean he was in any way a big musical contributor, please refer to the fact that he literally didn't even record most of his bass parts
There's a difference between being a great writer and a great player. For example David Gilmour hired another guitar player to play the classical piece "Is there Anybody Out There" on the Wall because he felt he wasn't playing it cleanly enough. He wrote it, someone else recorded it.

Dude, he has worldwide acclaim. He has a fan base across the globe and in the states. He puts a show up and people are there sold out like every time so... I don't know dude, you're way off mark. It's astonishing really
When he trots out The Wall. He ain’t selling out arenas with his solo shit.

A part?
When Syd was out of the picture. Roger took over, it was his band and continued to be his band up until David Gilmour, after the split stole the name.
The David Gilmour Pink Floyd is total dogshit. Any name Pink Floyd has is because of Roger Waters that's for sure and Animals, is a fucking masterpiece
I actually like a lot of the DG fronted Floyd songs, especially the versions on Pulse. I guess I'm just getting old.

Imagine being mad that an artist doesn't want to beat you over the head with their political views while attending their concert. lol. We live in a mad world.
I like both, I don't know. Do I go to see Roger Waters specifically for his political views, no fucking way. Have I gone to see Metallica which was granted in the early days, it's only because I had free tickets to the Rose bowl and Metallica was on the bill I wouldn't have saw them out at all. I know that's crazy because James Hetfield is a master rhythm player, like the best of all time really. But I did not go to see Metallica for their lack of talking about politics.

I don't give a fuck. I see their points on both sides though. Fuck the Jews and that grifter-ass Trump and fuck talking about politics

That's the case with a lot of musicians to be fair. They have a brilliant period and then nothing. For example can you name a good Jimmy Page song post-Led Zeppelin?

Yeah he is.
I went to the fucking Coliseum in Los Angeles to see him, sold out of course, doing the Wall. It was fucking amazing, maybe the best show I've ever seen of all time and that's saying a lot.
Yeah I take that back, it was THE best show I've ever seen.

I was with you till "fuck the Jews." Nah brah. Fuck Israel. Not the same.

I mean, both the firm and coverdale page had some solid stuff, but that isn't the point - the point is that PINK FLOYD had tons of music that people like post Roger, and Roger has done absolutely fucking nothing since he left the band that anyone generally likes

Last time he came here half the place left as soon as he started superimposing images of Trump as Hitler on the screen ?

Name a single Roger Waters song that ever got played on the radio after The Wall ?

This explains why you’re on Waters’ dick though.

Generally I agree, although I like Radio KAOS (some of the songs)
and both Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking and Amused to Death were decently popular. Personally I can't listen to them much at all.

I did like Coverdale Page.

I liked like 3 of the songs off The Firm album with Paul Rodgers.
Can I get what you're saying, sometimes the creative juices dry up no?
What time Rogers case especially when it comes to the show he's always concocting some new wild unreal presentation. The songs you're right I haven't heard anything since Amused to Death and that was 34 years ago.

Like I said, doing The Wall.

Roger Waters had a notable solo hit with "What God Wants, Part 1," which reached number 35 on the UK Singles Chart in September 1992 and number 5 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart in the United States.
Of course Floyd never had a #1 hit until Another Brick pt 2...

Just look at a song like Dogs. It was mainly Gilmour's music with Waters' lyrics, but it couldn't have happened without both of them. The whole was greater than the sum of the parts. That last verse where Waters sings is just epic.

I feel torn here as I am not a pink floyd fan, but i feel like this is objectively true

I mean if you like them great, but that isn't what I'm talking about here

Pink Floyd had a metric shit ton of success after Roger left (with all of his "transcendent genius") and Roger has had no success doing anything whatsoever except for performing Pink Floyd music, re-hashing Pink Floyd albums, re-recording Pink Floyd albums, etc.

It doesn't matter whether you measure it in critical reviews, fan's perception, or even album sales (every boomers favorite!)

I feel conflicted as as much as Pink Floyd annoys me, I have to roll my eyes at people who think Roger is some kind of genius when he quite obviously is the Michael Anthony of the band - and honestly, Michael Anthony is a much better vocalist

I've seen Waters twice. First time was a DSOTM anniversary tour (must have been 35 years) and so they played all of Dark Side plus another set of mixed hits. A few cool obscurish classics like Set the Controls. I think he played one song from Amused to Death. So yeah, he's riding the Floyd years for sure.

Second time was the Wall and yep. It was epic.

Look, I like the Gilmour fronted years as I've already stated. You're arguing with a point I am not making. But to claim that Waters wasn't the driving force behind the band during the 70s is simply wrong. It's a literal fact that the band wouldn't have existed without Waters driving the ship to carry on after Syd lost it. The other guys were ready to pack it in.
