Geo your guitar looks great - total Sabbath vibes w/that matching headstock. I'm wondering if Fender takeoff necks (ala stratosphere et al) are typically bolt-on and therefore not requiring much in the way of fret leveling or nut work? That alone would be worth some extra bucks to me, especially for a mexico neck vs warmoth etc.

Also something I haven’t seen mentioned about building your own, even from parts, is that you may have to fix some mistakes along the way. You may also have to live w/those mistakes or spend more bucks. I mean it’s cool you built a great guitar and all but no matter how nice the thing is, all you can see sometimes is this 🤬

Thanks. The necks from Stratosphere are usually pretty good. Or I should say as good as you would get buying a new Fender from Sweetwater. They all pretty much need some nut work and sometimes a level or spot level. I am not a big fan of the Mexico necks, they would be my last choice.

While the neck & fretwork on my pl2 is great I can appreciate that may be luck of the draw - my only complaint’s been the plastic finish on it (maple neck). I’ve played a ’54 70th ann strat a couple times and the neck on that thing was fantastic (chunky C). A similar warmoth build (quoted online) put something similar at around $850+/- vs stratosphere at I think 1200 +/- for the ’54 Fender neck.
