I'm thinking about building a higher end 24 3/4 SSS parts caster . How many of you have done it? What was the approximate total cost? And do you think it was worth it?
Have made many recently. Been spending an average of about 1k with a case. Lots of fun but not sure what I am going to do with all of them.I'm thinking about building a higher end 24 3/4 SSS parts caster . How many of you have done it? What was the approximate total cost? I'd love 1K. My estimated cost is considerably higher but still way short of an Anderson. But that's the level I'm trying to get close to.Have made many recently. Been spending an average of about 1k with a case. Lots of fun but not sure what I am going to do with all of them.
Where are you getting a body/neck for so cheap that you can do it for $1k? I feel like even the absolute cheapest from like Warmoth is $700+ and thats assuming you're good with whatever choices they made.Have made many recently. Can probably check with Musikraft also.I thought about this for a while, because I like the shorter scale length. Found it tricky to find a conversion neck outside of Warmoth.
I'll probably just get a Fender Mustang and frankenstein that.
Musikraft is my go to for necks (more options) but Warmoth does a good job with the bodies (more options)Can probably check with Musikraft also.
For some crazy reason only the Fender USA parts are the only ones that hold their value but the Japan stuff always seems like better quality to me.I would suggest using fender usa parts. That way if u don't like it resell is easy and you won't lose your ass
Just buy an Anderson at this pointI'd love 1K. My estimated cost is considerably higher but still way short of an Anderson. But that's the level I'm trying to get close to.
Yeah, a used one.Just buy an Anderson at this point![]()
Someone here was selling a great one not so long ago iircYeah, a used one.

I've considered it but even used people are asking too much. The shortys are not that common and I really want swamp ash and 1 11/16 nut. A lot of them are alder and 1 5/8. Hence the building it route.Someone here was selling a great one not so long ago iirc
How's the NFT floyd in terms of tuning stability?Depends—if you bargain hunt for wood and don’t particularly care about weight or neck profile you can do it for around $1k but if you want light weight and/or exotic woods it will push you up to almost $2k. Both of these are light as a feather with MJT nitro finishes and birdseye necks came in under $2k.
