Hiwatt Super Hi question

Not trying to add too much to the fog surrounding the Fortin prototype but I played it at Namm 2018 and to this day it is prob the best high gain amp I’ve ever encountered.

Despite taking into account time/place and potential romanticization of the experience as evidence that it couldn’t possibly be as good as I remember, it still haunts me. Jason Frankhouser, Jocke Skog, Dan Eaton and Ben Eller were also in the iso booth while I plunked away. The collective response of us all after playing it was that particular kind of holy shit type of joy that is so rare.

I had not gone to Namm that year to check out amps. In fact, my buddy Dan (above) had to text-harass me into going to the Hiwatt booth to check out the SH.

FFW 2 hours later and I was playing the SH and getting whomever’s card at Hiwatt to put in an order.

All this said, I own a Custom Super Hi 50 made in Aug/Sept. 2018 and have enjoyed it for years.

Regarding the PCB Super Hi, I have not yet played it, but according to several folks I’ve talked to who have owned both the Custom and PCB models, they all prefer the PCB version.

I currently have a custom request in at Hiwatt right now for a PCB version that I’m 100% 😈 sure will be a one of a kind (non-cosmetic) option.

I sold off a bunch of amps recently and now this thread is giving me GAS.

I played a custom one at DCGL in Denver many years ago. I loved it, but not the price tag. The new PCB versions are so cheap, it's almost criminal for me not to own one. :ROFLMAO:
