Thank you fine sir! You're a good man.

You wouldn't happen to be in need of a brand new Xbox 360 Elite would you?c

Postal Reorganization Act is from 1970, when they changed the US Post Office from a part of the cabinet to its own government entity....not sure how it applies to keeping shit that was accidently mailed to you...LOL.... just sayin....if it was me I would be calling and letting them know I received an extra and see what they say....that way if someone came calling on it I would at least be able to say I called...I wouldnt be saying "According to the The Postal Reorganization Act that shit is MINE!!!"

The Postal Reorganization Act of 1970 abolished the United States Post Office Department, a part of the cabinet, and created the United States Postal Service, a corporation-like independent agency with an official monopoly on the delivery of mail in the United States. Pub.L. 91-375 was signed by President Richard Nixon on August 12, 1970.[1]
The legislation was a direct outcome of the U.S. Postal Service strike of 1970

Read article 3009 on merchandise shipped without consent. It is relevant.

Who sent the package? UPS, Fed Ex or USPS?
I believe it was UPS. Don't have the shipping labels in front of me right now.

I need to figure out who's error this. If it's Micro$oft's, I'm keeping them. If it's a smaller company, I will send them back if they want them, even though I'm broke as hell and could use the money bad. I'm going to be homeless very soon.

I do not plan on screwing over a small company, no matter the legality involved.

Dude, fuck it. Just sell them and keep the cash. You're not going to be screwing over any small company.

Don't listen to the "high on your horse" comments, keep the consoles Microsoft will not go bankrupt from this logistical error in their distribution chain. Nor are you responsible for their ineptness...

Why is it a "high on your horse comment" when others state they would make a different choice than keeping them but it's perfectly acceptable to claim it's the shippers own dumb fault and O.K. to keep the consoles?

By the way, it's likely that Ingram will eat the costs, not MS. Ingram is a substantially sized company, but nonetheless...

I'd be careful keeping them, don't sell them.
A delivery came to my dad's company that was misdelivered and months later it was tracked down and they came after him for it.
He just put the stuff aside, it was a skid of shampoo and stuff like that.

How are they allowed to do this? According to others I've talked too, including Jake in this thread, the Xboxs are legally mine. Is this not 100% true?

Not sure...but he gave it back, he didn't want it anyway.

There is shipping records of what arrived at your door as far as sizes and weight and from where.
I'd look into your rights here, I don't know, they could be all yours. :dunno:

I hope I never accidently deliver a amp or guitar to the wrong Rig-Talker?

Since UPS sent it not USPS I doubt that USPS reform law even applies.

This makes sense .... it was shipped, not mailed. I wonder what the truth of that really is ?

It depends. If you are in business and accept a shipment (signing the shipping log) then you accept the goods. It is YOUR responsibiility to inspect them prior to acceptance. If something showed up on your doorstep without acceptance, no signing of anything, there was no acceptance and they are yours. Little loophole in the legal system.

I somehow doubt big brother, or anyone else is going to come harass you down the road for the XBox's. This isn't Riyadh, they're not gonna saw your hands off here.

Plus if they were left on your porch couldn't you always just claim they were stolen off of your porch? It's not like you signed for them.

Just sell them/give them away and be done with it.

Just call whoever is in charge of getting your xbox back to you and ask about the status of your order as if you hadn't gotten it yet. If they say "yes your order has been shipped and it appears that it has been delivered" then say ok thanks and hang up, and proceed to sell them all off. If they say "Yes we did ship it out but there seems to be some kind of error. we seem to have sent you multiple devices on accident, did you receive any extra?" then just say yes and ship them back.

If you do this, then you can at least say you tried.
