How do you feel about people selling Fractal Patches?

I use modelers; I create my own patches; I use the Helix IRs not 3rd party IRs.

I spend time looking at factory presets to learn how they make the sounds; I also take an approach to creating patches as if I was creating a new guitar rig with amp, cab, speakers, effects, etc.

If someone makes patches and sells them, it's fine with me. I won't buy them, but if someone else does I don't really care. Capitalism is a wonderful thing.

I bought some, looked at what some of the guys were doing..then started making my own.

Honestly I've had more luck with free presets plus direct advice from the Fractal forum than purchased presets.

I feel that as firmware has matured, have to do less and less processing to get tone I was looking for.

I find it strange that it even has to be asked really.....selling patches is common place and has been common for decades in the electronic music world(for synths and effects). It's someone's work, if they want to sell it more power to them. The patches and the work that went into them are THEIRS, if they want to sell it, good on em'.

Well, my Kemper profiles are made with real love if that helps...

A whole heap of man love!!!! :D :D

Well, OK.....If it sells profiles, then yes....An entire heap it must be....

Ok, but how many of you question the integrity of someone selling a World Of Warcraft Dwarven Axe that does 150 hits points, plus 15 points of Fire Damage Per second, drains 5 points of mana per hit, and steals 3% of vitality per hit.

My friend actually had an online store for Diablo 2 weapons and armor.

Now that is a free market....I wanna start selling Dwarven Axes too! :)

The only Axe-FX patches I'd buy are ones from bands that use in their recordings or live. I would probably sell/trade my Kemper if I could buy patches by Periphery, Devin Townsend, Tesseract, etc.. Only if it was the exact thing they use in their recordings/live though.

Another vote for: 'don't bother me none, but I wouldn't buy them.'

There's a few guys who really bust their ass on their offerings. Fremen on the forum sells a whole bank of interesting patches with elaborate effects and routings. I think he's got something to 'sell'.

There's a handful of other dudes that do exactly what you say...promote on the boards, throw up a youtube vid... it reminds me of a pump-and-dump stock scheme. whatever...let the buyer beware.

Patches rarely translate for me. This guy makes patches that seem to work for me and lots of other folks.
