1: Axe
2: 5150
4: Racto
7: JCM
8: VOX

I Like the guess

YOU HAVE ONE CORRECT SIR and I really mean you have one correct hehe

I will post the answers soon enough but would like to give people more time to listen with unbiased thoughts

I actually like 6 the best. Like it's clearer midrange. The first three sound identical to me. The Avenger did sound good too.

Ok guys here's some more stuff. I'm posting the actual KILLSWITCH guitar tracks that I referenced for the test because that is what I was going for and love that tone. So, you now can hear what the main tracks are. The clip starts out with the killswitch guitar tracks but then cuts to another favorite guitar recording so thats why you hear a switch in tone on the track.

Please understand that I could find something useful about all these amps and some of the amps just didn't do it for me. It's all taste and just to let you in my head one of my favorite guitar tones ever is on Faith No More's King for a day album. Just love how it cuts but its very rich and smooth. Anyways

So here's:
Herbert
Mark4
Mak4 chan 3 and 4
Powerball
Vht pitbull
Avenger

This is AWESOME!!! Would you by chance have Channel 1 & 2 (Dorado/Makoplex) available from the Mak 4 for posted as well??

Would be super stoked to hear 'em...

ROOL!! :rock: :rock: :rock:

amp1= Axe Fx>VHT 2/90/2
amp2= Splawn Nitro el34's
amp3= Krank Rev1+
amp4= 5150
amp5= Splawn QuickRod
amp6= Marshall JCM800 (friedman)
amp7= Marshall Super Lead (friedman)
amp8= Mesa Dual Rack
amp9= Soldano SLO

If you notice a lot of the marshall based stuff does have a similar quality and same for the Soldano SLO and Rectifier (which was based of the SLO).

Now what's your thoughts hehe
i was listening back to the slo and avenger clip

i would say that the difference is exactly what i hear with my slo and avenger with deyoung transformer.

the deyoung avenger sounds a little thicker in the low mids, and a little less gain and cut articulation than the slo.

very interesting.

:2thumbsup: AWESOME job man!! I am going to go back to that amp1 and listen to it to hear what it was that made me go "hmmmmmmmm...". The Friedman Super Lead is my fave, period. Juicy and gnawing, tight and rich - loved this amp shootout!! THANKS MAN!!!!

I find it very interesting that both that I picked as favourites were Splawn. Also that I liked the Axe FX/2/90/2 better than the Rectifier and SLO. OTOH I'm not surprised at all that I disliked the Rectifier :D

Yeah the Rectifier isn't the greatest and I always tell people I record that its probably the easiest amp to screw up on tone and hardest to get right. But, I will say this, the rectifier blends with amps AMAZINGLY. I mean blend it with a marshall and it just adds some nice meat and saturation.
