I think Lynch is back!!

To me the guy that has NEVER lost his chops has got to be Neal Schon....

WERD!

Haven't checked-out the Lynch stuff yet (will do that shortly). But yeah... in EVERY Schon performance I've ever witnessed, the guy smokes and is just ON all the time. You just don't see that with many players, especially not those playing at such a high techical level. Yeah, you've got guys like Gilbert, Broderick, etc who can shred it up all night long and never miss a single note. But Schon just has SO much fire, passion, and soul in his playing and phrasing and keeps me interested for the entire performance. A lot of shredders have to put in hours a day of practice to maintain their technical virtuosity in live situations, but I've never heard Neal talk about his daily practice regimen. Wonder what it is...

Ha ha... just watched the vids. Not bad. I do have to chuckle at George with that cig hanging out of his mouth. I know that he's been a bit of a health nut for a while and it's quite ironic to see a svelte guy with his right gun all flexed-out... and a smoke stick hanging out of his mouth. I dunno... maybe smoking helps him stay thin...

Exactly.. Lynch is not the Lynch of old no matter how many people want him to be. He has moments of clarity and focus and he soudns off... then he goes out of key or out of time and tries something completely out of the box rather than playing rythm. Also his timing and transition in sections is horrible. WTF was he doing in tooth and nail? The band is almost waiting for him to hit he signature parts and he sounds like he comes in late. Is he horrible? No. Is he particularly good or sharp like he used to be? No chance.

As for Ace, was he ever tight live? That guy is a trainwreck but he is lovable !
