hey Petey...yeah,i absolutely LOVE all the early 90's Japan-built RG 500 "series" axes...that was the best "RG" era ever,imo...the newer ones just dont compare!!!

now that we are in this, just wanted to know if anyone knows, I have a really rare 770 on tobacco burst w/maple top, the only one i've seen is on the 1991 catalog (that's why I asumme its pretty rare) has anyone seen a guitar like this on ebay or something? thanks for your help :thumbsup:

Just some interesting things on consignment in this little electronics repair place I've been going to for the last 20 something years. I will do a really close inspection for you if you want, and play it or whatever.

They also had a 1972 Tele Thinline that someone butchered with a neck humbucker, custom pick guard and a Krylon red burst paint job...... :aww:....... didn't ask about that one!
 
Wow, that seems to be a steal for $350! Do you think it's worth is Copperhead? I'd LOVE to pick it up, if I can get some stuff sold in time.

It's going to need a little love. I will check it out, if the neck looks straight and nothing is cracked, then yes, it will clean up OK. I'll plug it in and see if anything else besides the back access cover was toasted in the fire... :lol: :LOL: I've been toying with buying it myself the last month or so. I can paint and I've got a good HVLP Sata. If I can get down there tomorrow, I'll spend a little time with it. No problem, it's just a mile from my work. I'm not posting the name and location here, I will PM you. There's been guys PM-ing me about it, but I figure you got dibs.
If you do end up wanting it and the store is funny about shipping or a telephone sale, I'll buy it for you and we can work something out.

I was going to buy that one too, BUT - the fretboard is looking like it is coming up from about 13 on up. I've seen old strats like this and they've stayed put forever, but you just don't know what it is going to do. It is flat and straight and plays perfect now, but the possibility of the neck going weird and/or the fretboard really pulling up from the pressure of the truss rod was a risk for me. It's just a hairline now, but I would probably pull it up and reglue the board if I owned it. I left it there because I have to think it through if I really want to do that or not.
 
yeah, that'd be a lot of work I'm sure. If you find that kinda thing fun and have the time for it, go for it dude!
