I'm going to get so much shit for this video... 6262 vs 5150

I see/hear complaints about Behringer products all the time. I can grab a used 5150 for less than a new 6262... you aren't going to see those 6262s in two decades, although those 5150s will probably still be kickin'. I don't know, buy what you want, but I'm not going to be owning any Behringer/Bugera products anytime soon... although once upon a time I said the same about Line 6 too, and here I am sitting in front of a POD HD500.

Did you record that with just 1 x sm57?

Sounds great mate

Not that I usually get involved in these type arguments, but correct me here if I am wrong.

Some of you are giving the guy shit about amp that is a copy of an amp, that is a copy of a Soldano?

Not one person has given Ola any shit. Only some of these  and these  . Some just don't like the fact that Bugera so blatantly ripped off Peavey, it's made somewhere in Asia and maybe made with some cheaper parts. As for Peavey making a copy of a Soldano with the 5150, Yeah, but it's probably a little farther from a Soldano than a 6260 is from a 5150. If nothing else, they at least made it look different and didn't call it a Peavey PLO.  Take all that out and you have two amps that sound very similar and record some killer heavy tones.

peavey copied the slo circuit, framus copied the slo circuit, mesa copied slo circuit, bugera copied the slo circuit, etc.

there are alot of brands out there that definitively deranged their final product from Mike Soldano's original design.

never cared for the quality of bugera's - first time i ever heard of one was in a repair shop i was hanging out at

peavey build quality is on the fall as well - nothing i would be sqwauking about or bragging about. but they are definately a more solid amplifier compared to the bugera - part for part there is no contest.

Owned by 5150II for almost 10 years and it never had a problem or let me down. Built like a tank. Haven't owned a new Peavey though, so I can't comment on that build quality.

DAMN, the 6262 sounds really good! It might be a badly built copy, but it sounds good good good!

Sounds damn near identical!

Has the quality issues with Bugeras actually been consistently occurring, or are the troubles that they had near the launch of the company just being perpetuated? I mean I did hear a lot of horror stories initially, but those seemed to have dropped off the map, and it has mostly just been people making the same fire extinguisher jokes

if you dont believe everyone then buy a bugera, gig it weekly and at practices 3x a week and see how long it holds up.

peavey shits all over it in build quality, and even though theirs has declined over the years bugera still does not hold a candle to a 5150.

I don't doubt that in the slightest, and I have no interest in owning a Bugera, just as an observer over the past couple of years, it seems like Bugera has stepped up at least a little bit, and stopped some of the issues that were frequently occurring early on, however the dog-piling (mostly by people who also are just observers, not those who have actually ever owned a bugera) on the brand as not. I don't really care one way or the other, just saying. And if I were to get either a new bugera, or a used peavey, I would still most likely go with the used peavey.

plus peavey's were made to be cranked, everyone knows you dont get the greatest tone out of them until you are moving some serious air.

i doubt a bugera would hold together as well as a 5150 at volume - especially over long periods of time

and i do agree, maybe they have stepped up their game the same as fender did with the 5150 III when it was first introduced :dunno:

still would not own a bugera.

Great clips (like usual) how loud do you have these amps turned up when you record?
It amazes me how good you're clips alwasys sound.
which is a problem for me when you do these "comparaisons" or "demos" because you
are the type of player that gets whatever he plugs into to sound like "your sound"
I've never heard a clip from you where I thought "god that sounds horrible" just the opposite they always sound great.
I have a 5150 II and mesa mark IV and I was thinking about getting a Pod HD500 just for recording
but you seemd to get great sounding clips (that's why I ask how loud these amps are running when you record)
out of every freaking tube amp you plug into.
