This guy is a marketing guru... thats why all the gear and endorsements. He has also burned bridges with LOTS of people in the biz as well. Man... I could go on for days... LOL He could have made one helluva telemarketer or used car salesman

but he did tour with Savatage. I dont see how money can buy you that.

He was/is friends with the guys in Overkill who I guess hooked him up with the Savatage gig. But I remember seeing Jack play before Edgar Cayce a few times. As soon as Kenny started playing I felt really bad for Jack.

Were the guys in Overkill playing a cruel joke on the guys in Savatage?? If the band Savatage can't attract a better guitar player than Jack Frost then they deserved to have him

Kenny had that way about him... Man, Jersey had some monster players back then...

I have to admit when I heard Jack got that gig my reaction was "Really?"

I saw him play at the Fucks booth at NAMM a few years back and spent most of the time he played doing this

What does that say about "Fuchs" that they would build a model to sell for this asshat. Maybe it's an inside joke from Andy in regards to how he feels about a hard rock/metal amp or hard rock/metal players :D

Missed notes and poor timing do not a metal hero make... I guess I don't hear Mr. Frost pulling off the rhythms either...

Steve

I see that you are not part of his fanbase   Kidding aside, I'm still puzzled that Savatage did hire this guy. Savatage always had very skillfull guitarists. Their music and show certainly doesn't need the "jack frost stomp".

Hey, he may not be the best player but he's got the best heavy metal combover I've ever seen.

And his "stomp" is pretty much Scott Ian's signature stage move from the 1980s.

Jack probably did the tour with Savatage for free.

Jack is a heavy metal caricature. He has everything but the chops.

After "Edge of Thorns" the band was no longer the same. I really liked "Edge of Thorns" back in the day, but now I go listen to it and it just sounds like bird poo.

"Hall of the Mountain King" & "Gutter Ballet" were Savatage's pinnacle albums.

Jack called me a couple of months ago about purchasing an amplifier. He was actually very cool to talk gear with. As far as his playing is concerned, nothing grates on my ears like the excessive misuse of false-harmonics.

Looks like he spends more time practicing his guitar faces than his actual playing. Kudos to him though for making something out of nothing.

I just finally learned how to do a pick scrape right.

Somehow though I missed the scrapes when I learned Jaime's Crying the other day so I'm gonna have to go back and get that part figured out.

I have heard other musicians that have played with him refer to him as "Hack Lost", and his former band as "Scratching Itches".
I did hang with him in Chicago and in Mass somewhere once - nice enough dude. Over the top at times, but he was pleasant to me.
HE Does have a most metal name though! lol
