I'm sure that old Jack approves of this thread, it's attention that he wants. This guy wants to be a metal hero so bad... it hurts. I actually think that he can pull it off until he starts a solo.
As for the comparison with Kerry, you may not like his whammy abuse, but he has actually written some riffs and solo's that stood the test of time. Jack is not in the same league with him.

I am not sure you are being fair to Jack. I spoke with him several times and one of the first things he told me was that he was not a real good guitar player. He said he was lucky and blessed. He could have been lying to me I suppose, but after watching these clips of him, I don't think so.
If he is having a good time that is all that matters.![]()

He is a cool guy, there's no arguing that. As I recall, he was going on about Friedman, Cameron, Cornford, you name it... I got tired of hearing it, so I suggested he should just buy another Soldano SLO and be done with it. The logic being that if he thinks the SLO100 is the 'pinnacle of great guitar tone', why did he sell it to begin with?Tone Merchant":1uc67b53 said:TrueTone500":1uc67b53 said:Jack called me a couple of months ago about purchasing an amplifier. Jack calls everybody about buying an amp.![]()

Jack will try and get it for free, then when that doesnt work he will ask for a discount and throw the pitch how its going to be on records and be seen on stages all over the world. Then when you tell him youll give him a small discount he states hes getting the money together and will pay in a couple of days and he never comes through. hes done this several times with Brad and i for cameon stuff. I dont discount friedman amps, so he didnt go there. Ive must of had at least 5 or 6 conversations with other amp and guitar manufacturers about jack trying to score gear, and we laugh at his promotional chuck and jive. Its pretty sad actually. But he is a nice enough guy. I remember Brad and I taking a couple of hours just trying to find out who he was, to no prevail.

Cool clip--would like to hear more. But now I wonder if it was the real Jack Frost after all? That sound clip is still there on the Bogner website:
