The FM3 will cover a lot more ground by itself, I imagine. I've never had a Fractal product, but I have been looking into the AM4 the last couple of days. I don't know though. The Studio 900 will probably be more instantly gratifying.

The FM3 would be more versatile especially with the FX, but you'll need a decent power amp. No class D pedal bullshit.

I mean you can get a decent 112 with a V30 from Mesa, Soldano even PRS or Peavey. For like 450-700 bucks.
Modelers are great without a doubt but I mean..... Yeah it ain't no real amp.

I already have an Orange 1x12 and Orange vertical 2x12 so would be good in that area.
I think I'd like both but leaning Marshall. I don't think I'd use all of the modelled amps, have effect pedals already and as mentioned, I'd need a decent power amp.

This would be for gigging. I have the 60 watt Laney Super Grace as a backup for either choice. I have a Synergy 20IR but think the Marshall, with the bigger tubes, would probably be better for gigs.

If I was going that route would honestly get a Boss Katana Artist and slave that..... Plus it's a real amp even though it is a modeler.....
And it competes against tube amps too. Great power section and build overall.

I actually had a BOSS Katana and thought it was a cool amp but I had some feedback issues with it. It would be cool if some of these companies did something together to all put their expertise into one product.

You should check out an Artist version of the Katana.... Miles better.
But yeah in either case the JCM900 Studio is the way to go. Its just better IMO to have a real amp as a foundation.
Check out the Jubilee version too, those look fantastic as well.

We are a rock/punk-influenced type band but i'm a metalhead so I like a good amount of gain. People say we sound like Social Distortion or catchy punk, etc.
Don't really have a ton of pedals. Boost for solos, noise gate, boost fod more gain, and some delay. Good to have a power amp and cab and also be able to go to the P.A.
I don't do any channel switching during gigs and typically use my Orange Super Crush 100. I'd like to have something with a bit more low end, more gain. I have my Synergy 20 IR which would be fine.
I typically wouldn't use a tube amp at a gig in the past but now that I have the backup (Laney Super Grace), i'm not worried about it.
The AM4 is something I thought about because it fairly cheap, can plug into power amp and cab and P.A., easy, etc.
