Marty Friedman great advice!

It's true that we are all capable of much more than we know at the time, if we just stop attempting to perfectly copy someone's technique. My difficulty has always been that I can sound too stiff when playing and it's a challenge for me to relax and feel loose. People often say, "you can sure play, but sounds a little stiff."

Some of my favorites I've tried copy are Gilmour, Steve Jones, James Hetfield, and many others.

I will add this as well. Marty proves how much sense it makes to become your own type of player without copying anyone's style too much.

It's hard to feel at-home relaxed on stage in front of a couple hundred people but it must be accomplished in order to sound one's best. I struggle with it all the time. Get too concerned about entertaining people instead of just embracing the feel of the moment without regard to their presence.

I want to see Lester playing so bad....oh wait, no I don't. Neither does anyone else.

We all know what he plays like anyways, we don't need to see it

He's obviously a completely shitty hack with no talent whatsoever

If he had any talent he wouldn't make up guitar criteria like "note charisma" or "your face looks sad when you play" because he would know the actual criteria to criticize about my playing, which I or anyone else who doesn't suck at guitar can recognize instantly

A BE 100 will fix that.

I actually can sound stiff even in my own basement.

I already have a million BE profiles on my kemper if I ever need them, and as there is literally no difference between the real amp and the kemper profile I think im good to go :hys:

LOL, note charisma.

I'm sure his tom waits covers are amazing but I still don't want to hear them.

Guaranteed he can't even do that - people that never shut their fucking mouths can never seem to back it up with anything tangible

Yeah agreed, that's why it's more funny than it is offensive. Dude's taste in music....well, tom waits says it all. Like a grey haired boomer hanging out near Santana's bus to get him to autograph his shoes, LOL. It's cool that among his remarks he's disrespected a mod a dozen times so when the humor ends, he doesn't have to be here anymore.
