You’re way too kind. I think even the tones blow chunks. Load/reload tones sound like they’d belong on a Soundgarden album. I really hate hearing palm muted metal-ish riffs played with mid gain rock tones.

Amazing tones on many of these songs...My feelings on the Load and Re-Load are pretty simple: There are a few very solid songs on each. The reality is that they should have made one 10 song album out of all that potential material:

1. Fuel
2. Until It Sleeps
3. Bleeding Me
4. Devil's Dance
5. King Nothing
6. Fixxxer
7. Hero Of The Day
8. The Memory Remains
9. The House That Jack Built
10. The Outlaw Torn

That would have been a very strong hard rock album in my opinion.

I've said that for years, just like the Use your Illusion albums from GnR, should have condensed into one killer album. Some killer tunes on these albums.

If I didn’t know this was Metallica and their earlier metal, I’d say this was a pretty good rock and roll tune with someone fitting in wah solo for no apparent reason. Not heavy, just dirty rock with a lot of mids.

It wasnt the Metallica that I grew up on. I guess if it was any other band it would be heralded more. Not to say that I listen to either of those records, ever.

Each to their own. But when you're used to Battery or Dyers Eve, its a bit of a disappointment.

I don't know man... Metallica holds a very special place in my youth.. but this song just sounds like someone said "hey can you guys make some generic rock n roll bar fight music that young 21 year military guys can get drunk to?" Just seems like they wanted some Nickelback money or something lol
