New "Hired Guns" Documentary...

Rudy Sarzo hired gun? The man has been in more legendary bans than most legends. I mean wtf? His career has been longer than most people. That is a bizarre classification.

I think its more the fact rudy hasn't actually played on many albums at all considering how long he's been around, the quiet riot albums and whitesnake slip of the tongue are pretty much the only studio albums of note ..... pretty much makes him a hired gun to me, as in spends his time playing other peoples bass parts (and there is nothing wrong with that)

This can be said for many artists including many, many big name stars. Many of them never wrote a thing and some didn't record shit. They just got marketed for other artists talents. As far as I am concerned, Rudy is the real fucking deal and as said before one of the nicest guys on the planet. Not for nothing, many people actually record on albums that never do get credited, or haven't in the past. It used to happen all the time. I am not so sure how often that happens these days, but it happened quite a bit back in the day.

A "hired gun" isn't a derogatory term. Rudy is definitely the real deal, and has been around forever, playing with some of the top names in the biz. However, he is most certainly a hired gun. Ozzy, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Blue Oyster Cult, Geoff Tate. . .when they needed a solid, known, bass player, they called Rudy.

It would be interesting to see if they have Steve Stevens, Steve Lukather, and Mike Landau. The 80s music that those guys are responsible for, and few people outside of boards like this are even aware of. Wow.
