I've met a lot of big time players over the years, and truthfully, the vast majority of them have all been cool as hell.
The two nicest, most ego-less cats, guys I've actually hung out with a bit, that I've met so far though have been Andy Timmons and Steve Morse.
These guys are physiologically incapable of being jerks, absolutely LOVE to talk to you about music and life in general like you were a long-lost friend, and are just the kind of people who radiate nothing but positive energy everywhere they go. They also happen to be freakishly-talented musicians on top of it!
