Of all the things you can hate on them for… I don’t think sounding like shit (tone wise) can be one of them.

Sure a lot of the early 2000s stuff sounded generic (Les Paul into a recto) - but I don’t think it ever sounded bad. That was also largely the sound of that period. Songwriting…. Well. That’s debatable.

It's crazy how successful those guys are. Some guys, like Carlos Santana and EVH have signature guitar, shoe, and hat/clothing lines but Chad Kroeger got his own damn grocery store, as there is a slew of them in the Nashville area. Blows my mind.

Nickelback ....They have always had really good Recto tone and the riffs are really catchy, but for some reason I am just not a fan and their songs just don't resonate much with me for whatever reason.

They don’t have any realness or energy and write repetitive mid tempo pop metal songs or whiney ballads. They’re like the modern day Def Leppard or something. ZERO pizazz. Plus Chad and his punchable face, old haircut and vocals. Not one memorable riff. Now extra cringe to hire John 5 as a hired gun. LULZ
