Was fortunate enough to have my guitarist in my band lend me the OMEGA Granophyre for a play through demo.

This amp has impressed the hell out of me, and I can easily see it becoming a popular modern metal machine.

Very clear, yet saturated. It is definitely not surgically tight like a lot of the new modern amp offerings, but a boost out front has a MASSIVE impact on the tightness. It's kind of crazy, really, how well the amp responds to being pushed.

I almost recon that the amp might do a little better with a different speaker than a V30, as the upper mid quack can start to get out of control if you push the mids above noon, but that could also be my guitar/pickups having an effect as well

I'd like to try it with some K100's in the near future, but I only have it for a couple days. It's made my short list of amps I want to own by the end of the year.

Sounds great man, I know you compared it to a 5150.....any chance we could get it versus the badlander or a 5150??

Filming the 5150 III Stealth shootout today, and a Shootout vs the Multi Watt Rectifier Friday! I want to convince him to let me keep for 2 more days so I can put it against the Badlander and Uberschall, haha, There are literally no videos of this thing anywhere so I figure if I can get a bunch of comparisons up, it will really help people understand the amp.

Hopefully he can manage haha, thanks again!

Sounds great.

I'm really liking mine through my Fryette Fat Bottom/Fane F70 cabs. Killer amp.

Honestly, that sounds great even through V30's. The mids are right where they need to be: Aggressive and cutting upper-mids with now low-mid mud or core-mid honk.

Great demo, man! Love your stuff.

I definitely noticed the boost putting that thing in a really good spot, which is good, because I’m not one of those “this amp doesn’t need a boost” kind of guys.

I’ve been waiting for a quality demo on this amp. Mick Thompson says this amps (or maybe the obsidian’s) sweet spot is having the mids at 6 and that also seems to be the case towards the end of the vid when you turned lows down and the mids up.

great work!

Nice dude! Yes demos of this are seriously lacking on youtube. Thanks for doing this, looking forward to the vs Stealth vid.
