The new three channel PWE Event Horizon may be one to consider. I don't know how the PWE loop is though. The two channel covers allot of ground. Also you may want to wait and see how the Redplate Shredplate is. Just saying.

As per the OP's need for an awesome FX loop....??

VH4's loop is :worship: :worship: :worship:

Honestly, when I heard your description of the tones you are after (creamy etc) and being a lead player first, the first amp that popped into my head was a Bogner XTC, one of its variants (101B/101A/classic etc) The VH4 would probably be my second choice though as well, as I haven't played those other amps listed..

I was thinking the exact same thing!

My XTC Classic is my holy grail. Oh... I've been stupid and flirted with the idea of selling/trading it during the past year (this HORRIBLE affliction called GAS is as bad as a sex addiction when it comes to regrets/shame!). But overall, I've not been happier with a piece of gear for the past 2.5 decades that I've been going through gear. For the past 6 months the XTC has been my #1 without question. Any other amp that vies for my attention is always vying for the #2 spot and just because I'm curious about what else is out there (like everyone else). NOT because I actually think that I'll find something that can displace the Bogner any more. I've got a buddy who's owned almost everything (used to own a music store, may own one again), and he's been stuck on his 101B for almost 15 years! He's also currently got a Uber Twin Jet and an Elmwood M60. But they're just runner-ups to the XTC.

CCV. Not a Diezel fan, although they sound great for what they are. Marsha would be my 2nd choice. Also consider a Bogner 20th Ann. XTC...phenomenal amp...best lead tone of any Bogner to date, IMO.

I use to own a bogner 20th xtc... great amp from what I can remember but it was many amps ago...My playing, ear, and wants have changed since then so not sure if it would suffice or not now. I wish there was more info on the upcoming new PT100 that is spose'd to be released early 2012... I am praying that John and the boyz redo the entire headshell and revoice ch2 just a tad... other than that, my original PT100 was to date my favorite amp. I have yet to put my fingers thru a Cameron, VH4, Cornford or Fortin so really have no idea how they would sound to my ears..clips are a nice hint towards sound but we all know they nowhere near capture the 'room sound' or 'feel' of the amp. Plus, being here in the Central WI, its pretty damn hard to get your hands on one to try... plenty of line 6s and peavey 5150's tho...  ...no thanks.

Okay....I work in a Rock Club, the best tone I have heard live is a guy in this LA band*can't remember the band* had a biamped rig with both the VH4 and the Herbert. It crushed.

I remember an early post with you saying the exact same thing.. that being 1 of the best of 3 live tones you've heard.

I agree with the consensus here. Either a VH4 or a CCV. Couldn't go wrong with either!

I dunno, the Fortin Natas seems to have too dry a tone for my tastes. I've just heard clips though and am by no means an expert. I wouldn't go with that one.

Not. On your list but since vh4 is. A least play thru the Diezel Hagen before you quit the search for the holy grail tone.

VH4 got me excited when I heard it for the first time like no other amp has (other than CCV and fortin cali) Bogner xtc is my high school sweetheart.

Buy my over priced VH4! :D :scared:

Out of your list, i'd try the CCV.

The VH4 is a cool amp, but not anywhere near a one and only amp for me, i'd rather have a less compressed amp for that.

My one and only amp is the Cornford MK50 II, but if i had a Cameron with a clean i'd be a happy camper.

My two choices for what he's describing, as well; CCV or Cornford MK50II...either one would work well enough for me :D

rhodes collosus with woods option, great lead tones on all 4 channels whatever it be clean or dirty.

 So far the VH4 seems to be the leader with the CCV 2nd and a 3way tie between the PT100, MK50II, Rhodes for 3rd  ... Keep it coming guyz.. appreciate the input.

I just got one of those on your shortlist delivered a few days ago. Quite frankly, I have never been this pleased with a production amp since the SLO. This one does it all, and does it well.

Why not an Orange Thunderverb or an old STOCK Marshall on a dark EQ setting with a boost pedal? (okay the Marshall doesn't have an effects loop, sorry).

I noticed that you don't want sizzle. From what I understand, any modified Marshall or variant, such as the Friedman Marsha, Diezel VH4 (it's a souped-up gainy 4 channel Marshall without those upper mids), Suhr PT100, Fortin, and Cameron CCV would NOT be suitable. Basically those amps were created to get more sizzle out of a Marshall circuit.

I don't know anything about the Rhodes Collossus and Cornford MK50ii, but I guess they'd be worth giving a try.
