Are we hearing mostly the pedals influence here or the amps natural ability?

The overdrive did take away some of the muddyness in the low end and did boost the mids a bit.

So otherwise, is this amps lowend muddy and lacking a satisfying level midrange? Just curious.

The low end muddiness is probably due to it having all JJ preamp tubes. It has enough mids but they are low mids not high mids.

Hmmm...I like it, but I'm not sure why - this isn't my usual taste :D

Great sounding clip. I am GASing for an Orange OR15H, which is supposed to be pretty similar to the Jim Root, just voiced a little differently.

That sounded very nice to me!!! A different sound, guess its more of that orange sound, kinda sizzly but not. I dig it very much..

In the DV mark 412, any idea what those neo B&C speakers are supposed to be modeled after? I wonder if they are made in the Jensen factory in Italy?

To my ears they sound just like a Celestion G-75, but with a bit more detail in the low end and less of the upper high 'sizzle'.

Big surprise, another Ryan video that sounds incredible. If we meet up, Im going to punch you( because you can plug into ANYTHING and make it sound like the second coming and Id make it sound like doody) and then Im going to hug you ( because youre a very cool cat who's impossible not to like :D)

I think the last time I was there was 06 or 07 but Id like to go this year, it all depends on how busy I am... It would be great to hang!!!

but can it djent? XD

kind of serious...can it play meshuggah, tesseract, the safety fire style tones? I have strictly been playing a 5150 for at least two years so I forget how "hi gain" four gain stages is haha (joking...but kind of serious still).

Cool vid.
Ordered my Root Terror yesterday.
It's hopefully gonna fill the void left by the RV50mkii I moved on.
I love the warmth of the drive channel. It an do stoner rock, grunge, metal
but, it'll also do these wooly, slightly broken up, full chords that burst with harmonics with the gain rolled back.
I'm hoping the #4 is the same way.

Oh, and Jimi Hendrix and SRV chewed gum with their mouths open while rocking out. :)

How loud do those 15 watts get?

Actually in 15W mode, the amp was really damn loud. With a 4x12, you would have no problem hanging with a loud drummer.

How well does the 7Watt mode work, does it knock the volume down much or change the feel of the amp?

Great! I've been wanting a Rockerverb for awhile but can't pay Orange's ridiculous prices. This is only like 700 bucks new, might be worth checking out.

How well does the volume taper? I mean, like with the 50w EVH, I can't really get it to a volume great for practicing late at night. It's gets down to a bearable volume, but there's a significant leap when edging the knob forward. Does the 15w Jim Root get down to stupid quiet volumes and does it have those "leaps" in volume when barely turning the knob?
