Peterson tuner pedal first or last on board?

I have my Peterson tuner last in my chain and wondering if I should have it first? Just trying to fo what is best to cut noise and get best tone. Thanks!!

Is it true bypass?

If you put it first then any noise it adds or any tone it changes will get boosted by your boosts/ODs. I like to put it last as a buffer to my amp but I'm using an old Boss which is not true bypass.

My Strobostomp HD is first in my chain as were all the tuners I've ever owned.

I’ve always put tuners first. Never tried it any other place

if You haven't any buffered pedal on the start of the chain, put Strobo first in buffered bypass (middle position in the battery shaft). If You have than You can let it last like output buffer but You have to turn off pedals before for accuracy.
I got Strobostomp last week myself and it is fanstastic tuner. Much more precise than Poly/TU's.

When I used pedalboards I had the tuners on a passive A-B box out of the chain, just to not have to think about it at all. Probably a whole different thing with the modern tuners today, though.

Some pedals have stereo outputs. That way it isn't in the chain and you can leave it on.

Tuner always first if possible..that way it gets a good, clean signal directly from the guitar…at the end, you would have to turn off any pedals before it, which could be a tap dance if you have any always-on pedals. This also applies to any other pitch detection pedals like a Whammy or Drop.

I have always heard this and did it that way for most of my life. But once I put it last I realized that the "other pedals affecting the tuning" was a total non issue since I know better than to tune with modulation or really any other pedals on. But it was definitely more quiet when large amounts of boost were on the board. Once I tried it last I never went back.

But again mine is an "always on buffer" so it provides a buffer for the the run back to the amp. Once my cable from the guitar is at the pedalboard, I don't need buffering THERE because...I'm already there. The damage is already done. Might as well go thru the pedalboard and put the buffer at the end for the run back to the amp.
