very cool Pete. I've been waiting on a tubes up, Suhr branded version with all the midi capabilities. Sounds great!

Sounds cool...but...i wish that guitar sounded less straty, if that makes sense since it is a strat. But with humbuckers i don't like to hear any hint of single coilness.

you animal!!!!

It's a Suhr SSV- paf strength. I like low output, the opposite of what you are saying you go for. I still like it bright an snappy, yup

Hey Pete,
I was curious if you have a video and your thoughts on that amp under the PT100.
(Marsha).
Just compared to other modded Marshalls how does it compare and the PT100. I know the PT and Marsha are different animals.

Sounds like the PT is going to be pretty cool.

How different are those voicings to the current PT100?

I reckon if I was playing with that guitar and my current PT100 I could get very close, if not identical, to those sounds with a bit of tweaking, volume knob manipulation etc?

BTW congrats on being the only guy on youtube to play Lay It Down with not only having your fingers in the right place but also copping the feel, timing and vibe needed to play that lick! (all in the right hand)

Ha! That's funny because I haven't even played that lick since the 80's, I just heard it the other day and it kinda came out all spontaneous-like and whatnot. So I guess I remember it correctly...

there's been some circuit tweaks to this amp. The PT100 original is very versatile and I'm sure that with some knob turning you could come close, yes. They are both great sounding amps and my guess is that the main difference with the new one will be that it'll feel instantly friendly to a really wide range of players- the original is upper mid voiced, and so is this one, but I think this one with all tone controls on 5 is a tad darker and more "neutral". Smoother, if you will. Some guys, that's their thing... But all you gotta do is dime the presence and get the treble up above 6 and the teeth come out.... if that's what you want..

We've just hit on some magic with this one and we aren't done yet, there's more work to be done... lots more actually

I like it to...it has a nice aggressive, hairy type tone. Sounds great for chords. In a mix with a band that would sound nice.
I'm having a tough time walking that fine line with my Bluesbreaker combo/pedals, getting that nice bite that doesn't hurt you or is too dull and bloated sounding.

your clips always sound really good, but that sounded REALLY good :D

Is the 3rd channel getting tweaked as well?

How is the 3rd channel? How much gain does it have on tap?

Jim

I don't want to come off as a basher....Not my intention but if I'm being honest...

I like where you guys are going with this amp but I don't think it's soup yet LMAO!!
Id really love to hear the final product because I'm pretty sure that it's going to KILL.

With that said, Id love to hear that amp though a 4x12 loaded with some h30's or greenbacks!

Hope I didn't sound harsh!(but then again I Don't like the Normal tones that most people dig so Maybe I shouldn't comment lol :D )

All the best

You metal freak :D FWIW, it seems like the Suhr amps are getting better since we tried them years ago at Steve's. This one looks like it's going to be a winner though.
