Anyone had any/both of these and can give their thoughts on getting a good saturated metal tone. I know the Randall will need a boost to achieve higher gain levels. Thanks!

i have them both. what band has a similar tone you are going for? i havent played the supreme in years, maybe ill fire it up today

I had the Supreme 160, killer saturated metal amp. And great SS cleans. I used a BBE sonic maximizer in the loop with great results.

80's thrash, Dokken, Pantera. I know they they both can achieve these sounds, can get the Peavey for a fraction of the price of the Randall.

The Supreme 160 is a Pantera machine with the mid shift engaged. Don't need a boost or anything. I really recommend trying the sonic maximizer with it. I never really liked them with other amps but something about it really loves the 160.

Thanks! I have the opportunity to get the Supreme 160 for dirt cheap, so may give it a shot! I have a Sonic Stomp too

if you have a freidman 2204 already id probably get the peavey just to have a little different flavor than the modded marshall vibe, i wouldnt pay more than $200 though
