Splawn is about 2 hours away heading west....Germino, Carr, 3monkeys, Briggs, Gadow, Zion, Swart, McInturff, Motorave are ALL right here local within 40 minutes of the airport. LOL Its a Crazy town with some GREAT builders!! James, honestly, someone with your drive is gonna do really well out here...

I've had so many friends come out of the wood work and reach out. Thanks guys, this is the monster move of my lifetime. We just found out that my wife's company cannot transfer her to NC, so we are moving there and my wife will be 7 months pregnant without a job. Whoa! A little scary but I guess this will show us what we're made of. Again thanks everyone for the calls and emails.

James

p.s. Yo RedRider, we are doin it! Crazy man. Get the BBQ ready. :D

I wish you nothing but the best with this move, James. You're a good dude with a lot of talent and I have no doubt you'll be successful wherever you are located...

Id love to be out there. sick of so cal and all its b.s. Crybaby union people, welfare recipients, affirmative action employees, food stamps in the form of credit cards so they arent embarrased, illegal immigrants from the south and all their b.s. shoving their flag in our face.. like why are you fleeing your dirt country for a better life but bringing all your baggage too. Sick of all of it. I would love a place where me and my family could just live and not have someones agenda shoved down our throats.

gimme the downside of NC, (if there is one) :)

We have all of that here too brudda...the thing is that they dont really know if you have a shotgun rack in your pickup or not so its not quite as in your face...LOLOLOL Our immigrants are from all over, taking all the high tech jobs, not just all the construction jobs...LOTS of work visa's here and entire neighborhoods that are completely made up of work visa holders...

but we have a lot more laid back way of life....which can also get on your nerves, like whenever you are in a hurry!! LOLOL Just the other day I am in the checkout line at the grocery store and both the cashier and I are both staring at a woman waiting for her to pay for her crap so we can get going...and she does the whole southern drawl thing..."Ohhh I guess I have ta pay for all dis...." and I am like 'Ya Think??? Yer already using my taxes to pay for all your shit with your state issued credit card, the least you could do is friggen move it so I can get back to work to pay more taxes to keep your sorry ass fed...."....ohhh did I say that out loud...LOLOL

We ahve all the same problems everywhere else has....but its pretty laid back and easy to avoid, where as LA, its pretty much up in your face.

Cmon man....you and Fletcher both know I am ready anytime! LOLOL You already know I am more than happy to help in ANY WAY I can...my wife cant wait to meet yours and we got 3 baby sitters already lined up for ya. You need help getting settled in, or anything else we can do to ease the move just give me a shout...I will do all I can....(which honestly isnt much! LOL)

Problem with LA is everybody's doing the same shit you want to do.

RDU area was where I was born and raised. I love the place, and would be back there in a heartbeat if it wasn't for school and work.

Thanks Steve.

I've made some progress the past fews day; got a NC phone number that will forward to my LA number, postal mailbox for business stuff, set up alarm installation, made all my magazine ads, flyer and business cards and installed Source-Live on PT so I can stream while mixing and producing. Have a source-live rep coming tomorrow to help me configure my router so it will work.

And the best thing is I had an electrician scope the house out today and he said there's plenty of amperage going to the house and 4 open slots on the breaker, so we are golden for the console. This is probably something I should have looked into first but it didn't dawn on me till this electrician questioned if the console would be able to power up in the house but it does and it will be fine. He also said the basement is well insulated, very quiet and cool.

Best of luck James! FWIW my wife and I both quit our jobs and moved from the city back to my small hometown in upper Michigan when we found out we were having our daughter.

Same deal; the thought of raising her with no family nearby just didn't feel right. Luckily I have amazing parents who are helping us get by (that, and my wife works her ass off!) while I get through school to start the next phase of life!

All the best to you and the fam! You'll find success no matter where you go!

Jordan

Thanks Jordan.

Well I'm just over 2 weeks out from splitting. Man this is freaky, a little scary but this past week I wrote those 2 monster rent checks out for the last time, that I won't miss. I have been going through some serious changes mentally and emotionally with this move looming. I think it'll be better once I'm up and running and making some noise over there. A lot of guys from RT have reached out and that makes this easier.

Hey James... big changes are never easy to deal with in life, its all a matter of how you adapt to them. At least thats what I told myself when hopping on that plane to Ft. Knox on my way to basic training 5 years ago. Since then, I have had to get used to moving to Germany after basic, and going back and forth from Germany, Kuwait, and Afghanistan... If I can do it, you can do it my Friend and I want to say that in the next couple weeks when I finally get back to Germany, even though its gonna be great to be back around my family, its going to be strange and take time to adapt again. Also when my last year is up in Germany, it once again is going to take some adapting to get used to living in the states again after all this time... which might be a little bit of both good and bad. Take it for what its worth bud, but Im glad to see your optimism about getting back out there and set up and running so just stay fast with that mindset and keep your spirits up! Hope the best for you, and your family in this move... I know its gonna be tough to leave the comfortability of LA and your friends, but Im sure you will have no problems making new ones and getting the buisness kickin out on the east coast.

Dude I went to Fort Knox for basic. That was a cold winter...yikes!

Thanks for the encouragement.

James, it is always good to know your own limits and what is best for your family as well as yourself. Making a move like this must be uncanny to the utmost extent. i wish you much luck on the move and if there is anything i might be able to help you with in NC let me know

I live about 45 minutes outside of Charlotte

Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston Salem, all are a straight shot from one another on I-40 - no more than a few hours drive either way across the entire state. I visit my brother at UNCG often. Im actually visiting Raleigh this weekend, its extremely nice - much much better than Charlotte - planning to relocate there myself in a few years time. Couldnt have picked a better place!

Just think of it this way... remembering looking at this with 80 lbs on your back that winter?

"Heartbreak hill"

"Agony hill"

Take that hill!!! Its not impossible... is it a bitch, sure!!! But very rewarding when you make it and look back on where you just came from and overcame!

Man that makes me want to go ruck that shit again!!!

You remember Heartbreak, misery, and agony??? You can do this man!!!

We use to do agony and misery every morning. Unbelievable. And then do PT at the bottom.
