Maybe I missed it, but what speakers did you have in it?
Not Sure waht speaker were in the cab Vlad. We didn't have the proper tool in order to open up the back of the cab but whatever was in their sounded killer !!

If they're the stock SB25's they freaking RULE!
But I only like them with my QR. They're too nasty with my other amps.

I have a govenor/man o war pattern in my Splawn cab and it sounds great. Still wanting to try some sb25's though

great to see some Splawn love around here. It's about time

and those square screw heads are called 'robertson's' ;)

They are ok cabs imo. I really want a Bogner 4x12 now that I played Se7en's 20th ann through a Bogner 4x12.

welcome to 2006!!! LOL

Better late to the party than never, however ;)

and yes, they rock hard..my splawn 2x12 w/ weber 1265s sounds bigger than alot of 4x12s I've owned or played through

Are Awesome!!!

I went to carl Roa's house to hang out and I had the chance to listen to and compare some 4x12 cabs. I brought over my Old Marshall cab loaded with h30's and Carl Had a Marshall Cab loaded with v30's and greenies in an x pattern, A cornford Cab Loaded with V30's and a Splawn Cab. As of Now we aren't sure what speakers are loaded the Splawn cab but I will find out as soon as Carl gets a chance to open it up. The Splawn Cab was closed shut with screws that appear to have a Star key Head and we didn't have anything to open it up with LOL.

Anyway I've always known that My Cab was a Dog but I never knew just how much of a dog it was until I got to compare it with some other cabs. Let's just say that My cab sounded the worst out of all of them and it will be going away soon! It was no contest really ;)

In my humble opinion all of Carl's cabs sounded great but the Splawn sounded the best and Id love to have one!!

If I had to rate Cab's in Order it would be 1)Splawn 2)Cornford 3) Carl's x pattern cab 4) My cab thrown away in the garbage lol

Carl is gearing up to record a new Solo album and a NEw Magic Elf Album and I'm pretty sure that you will be hearing the Fortin/Splawn combo when he is finished

Ralph

Ralph... Was the cab a straight or slant cab???
Aloha Bruddah Zach!!

Straight cab in White Tolex!! It is The bizzomb!!

I have been looking at getting a few "White/Black basketweave" Splawn 4x12 straight cabs... Hmmm

I'm thinking 6 Full stacks would look pretty darn cool
I'm thinking that you are right.......It would look KILLER But I'm also thinking ...........Roady :hys:

Can you say BIG dude...

Fortunately for me, I live in the land of LARGE Polynesians, who are eager to help. ;)

Wish you were going to NAMM this year. I'm going for sure... yay. Got my badge, and my buddy who's a Captain for one of the major airlines, is getting me the roundtrip tickets.

Id love to go brother but I have way to many things going on lately and the funds aren't going to be there. As soon as I square a few things away, I'll be back at NAMM in no time or I'll come out to the Island to see you!!

I hear you. You and Deb are welcome ANYTIME

Thanks Brother!! I will be visiting you there one day if it kills me lol!!

My Splawn demo cab in the store has helped sell many amps. Than it has helped sell many Splawn cabs when the customer decides to put their cab head to head with it.
I don't doubt it! The one Carl has sounds great

Yes... LOL! :D
It filters out the weird mids and adds some woody knock and organic overtones.

Scott more then likely had them tweaked for his amps which makes sense. The good thing is that whatever was loaded in Carls Cab sounded killer with the Fortin Bones and I'm sure it would sound good with just about anything. The cab is very warm sounding

Well I think Scott deserves Love because I think he is a Really good guy who makes great products. I know I haven't been much of a fan of his amps and that's all personal preferance With that said, Id love to revisit the Quickrod and pair it with a matching cab.

Robertsons huh? Thanks!! I guess Carl will need a Robertson screw head lol :)

One thing to note is that Splawn cabs have a very thick grill cloth which I think softens the tone. I could be wrong though but it makes sense to me

From my experiance there's always going to be something else that you dig more! With that said I do think that it is possible to get a beat sounding cab regardless of who builds it! I have one 80's marshall cab that sound insane no matter what I put in it and another that sounds like hammered shit no matter what I put in it LMAO. Ive also swapped out the same speakers from one cab to the next and compared them and the cab just sounds like Dog ass LMAO :)

Well, That's usually my M.O. LOL I find out later on what I like and then usually when I get on teh ball the thing that I'm looking for has been discontinued LMAO :D

Robertsons?

Never heard of those, why does Scott use those?

Tamper-proof to hide the secrets? :D

Nope, I don't think you are wrong and that's something I mentioned to Carl. the Grill cloth on his cab is almost liek Carpet LMAO! Sounds killer though!!

Oh!

Ralph said star shaped :gethim: I used 1000's of those for my deck, SS so they were freaking expensive

I stay away from those religous flamefests anyways :D
