Sup yall! Got a new git fiddle yesterday, the cheapest Ibanez prestige in the line, the rg 652fx with the fixed bridge in Galaxy black. It actually came pretty much ready to play! Adjusted the pickup height a bit and just got the intonation as perfect as I can. Anyway usually I don't play 9's. I've got an 11-56 set on my other guitar but I'm not a huge drop tuner. Keep my other guitar with the 11 set in Eb. The RG is in standard tuning with 9s. My question is, how high can you go with string gauges before having to mess with the nut? I'd like to throw some 10s atleast on this guy, maybe a light top heavy bottom set just cause I like the feel of thicker strings and the tone as well. Btw I am very impressed with the guitar. Def a step up from my Schecter. Really wanted some thing with passives, a thinner neck, flatter radius and an unfinished neck. The only thing il probably change are the pickups. The tone zone is an alnico 5 and isn't as tight as id like and kinda lacking thr attack im seeking but still sounds great. It's amazing going back to passives after all this time. Just so much more musical sounding to my ears. Il see if I can get a pic up of this gal.

Usually up/down one size is fine, I'm not sure about going from 9's to 11's though.
