THE NOIZ FAKTORY RECORDING STUDIO - Construction Thread

The construction continues and piece by piece it all comes together. The accomplishment for this week was building the floor of the small vocal booth. One thing to notice is that it is completely decoupled from the live room floor and the control room floor. Additional features you may notice is that it's completely decoupled from the floor as well as the rear wall. This week I don't have any long winded story to accompany the postings. Since this are was smaller than the other areas Dave preferred to handle this by himself. Since I know Dave worked hard assembling this it is easy to say that Dave is a one man army. Thank you for all of your hard work Dave.

Hi Fuzzyguitars. Thank you for the "Wow". That singular word is a moment of redemption on our end. I wanted to make sure to say THANK YOU for taking the time to stop by and check this out.

Here it is time to show a little more progress on the studio. At this point we are starting to place the mineral fiber in the floor of the control room. As with all insulation it's zero fun. On top of that wearing face masks while spending your time gowned up with a long sleeve shirt to keep the insulation off of you as much as possible is equally zero fun.

In addition to this, I thought I'd give you some perspective of how tall the walls are compared to my friend Bailey who is always quick to lend a hand. In this case the job was easy...simply stand there and look awesome.

I hope you enjoy these pictures.

Here it is another week of progress. Now we have two layers of OSB sub flooring covering the mineral fiber in the floor. We still have to complete the small vocal booth floor which will be easy compared to the control room and live room floors. The width of the control room is 37'3" and the width of the live room is 37'9". Dave has done a phenomenal job up to this point. It goes without saying how fortunate I am to have Dave's expertise on this.

Overall the studio's foot print is looking to be approximately 2,200 sq. ft. This leaves us approximately 1,200 sq. ft. to build which will be two floors effectively becoming 2,400 sq. ft. after the second floor is added.

I hope you enjoy these pictures and I look forward to hearing from anybody regarding this process.

Hi Mailman1971. This message made my night. :D I'm hoping at some point you can pay me a visit to see the project in person. Thanks for taking the time to continue to share peoples reactions with me. This is hugely appreciated.

Everything is looking phenomenal so far, glad to see everyone putting in so much hard work and dedication to the project!

Hi JCDenton6. Thank you for stopping by to check this out. I agree that there is lots of hard work that has gone in to this so far. If it weren't the the people being involved up to this point none of this would happen. Please continue to check back. It's always great hearing from people. I hope you're having a great day!

thanks for updating! looking good! just curious about a few things, where the two floors come together there's a space, is the wall in between going to cut straight to the cement floor? and the holes for accessing the cables, is there going to be jack-panels there or just open for access?

Hi Dr. Thunder. Thank you for the kind words. Regarding the space between the two floors...that space will be maintained between the two walls on each side of the floor. There will be an air gap there. Regarding where the cables are there will be a trap door covering the to areas where the cables will come up. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check this out. I hope you're having a great day and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Here we are again with some walls being framed on the ground ready to receive the drywall. Continuing on with the genius building skills of Dave Del Valle you will notice that there are angles on two of the walls which will stand right on the perimeter of the floor. You will also see that there is a section of wall to receive a layer of drywall which will go between the two rear sections of walls that are currently standing with temporary braces. Although this moves along slowly it always moves along. I hope you enjoy this round of pictures.

Hi everyone. Here are some pictures of the future wall panels around the live room and the trap doors in the control room. I'm sure this isn't very exciting and it is a part of the process.

Hi everyone! Here it is another week of work completed. This week the rest of the control room floor was completed. This took a little longer than expected because moving sub flooring by yourself is not easy so it was a matter of getting some extra help. One thing to notice is that the floors continue to be decoupled from one another which gives us a total of three separate floors. I hope you enjoy these pictures.
