Thinking about doing a Griffin Analog Wah ......

So roughly 20 years ago I started modding wah's ..... I did a bunch for some fellow Rig Talkers way back when the site first started ..

at first I was drilling and adding all kinds of switches and LED indicators ... gain ... volume ....etc ... etc ..

then I found just a simple wah voiced like how I like it ...... was a lot better than something with 1000 options on it ...

I'm not a knob turner ........ at all ........... very much a set it and forget it kind of guy .... I haven't turned on a knob on my Mark V in three years ..... lol

with that said ..... I'm going to start doing some modded Voxs and Dunlops ...... but they won't just be simple hack and whack mods ...

I'm going to fabricate some new PCBs that will drop right into existing enclosures .... and start winding my own inductors for some unique voicings ..

going to use all top quality axial caps ..... will be a huge upgrade to the parts used in current production stuff

if I start really liking the final result .... I'll probably buy some new empty enclosures and start doing " brand new " custom wahs

think there will be any interest ??
I’ll buy one as soon as you let me know it’s available

I was about to say, a tweaked/tweakable Cantrell wah with a better buffer or true bypass would be ideal. I love how the Cantrell wah sounds, just hate it's impact on my tone when bypassed.

I also prefer switchless ala Morley these days... I have a mini Crybaby that's cool with the autoreturn, but the mini size is problematic sometimes.

Definitely has to be true bypass. I’ve always hated what a buffered wah does to the bypass tone as well until I plugged into the Cantrell.

Gotta be true bypass! I’ve always hated what a buffered wah does does to the bypass tone until I plugged into the Cantrell. Dunlop says it’s hardwire bypass…whatever that means lol

no worries ... I worked out all that routing for the PCB today .... I got you guys covered on true by pass ...
