I have owned a few of the vintage amps. DR103 is one hell of a amp.
 
I'm actually interested in checking out one of the early 80's 'Lead' series amps. The company was in transition then (after Dave Reeves died), but they were basically gaining up the classic designs and went through a few different tranny manufacturers as I recall.

I've heard a few clips of some that sound fantastic. Like JCM800 levels of gain but with that huge Hiwatt clarity. I have no idea which years to look for though.. :confused:

this is true!
I used a Hiwatt Custom100 for years, with an old Tube Driver in front as my main distorted amp.

My band at the time played a private outdoor party. The cops showed up with complaints from 7 miles away! :lol: :LOL:
