My Snott watt is all I play through these days

That amp is sick...care to give details?

I use my valvestate or pod x3 live w phones...im open for tone secrets on the pod

It's taking so long to get an Axe FX II through TM, that I've been considering grabbing a tube 212 combo for bedroom practice, and can use to amp the Axe FX until I get an FRFR solution figured out. I was looking at Jet City for rock sounds at budget pricing, but I need high gain too. I reckon I could throw some dirt in the front to keep me occupied.

blackstar ht-5 - 2x12 cab -- various pedals but a boost out front and an EQ + reverb /delay in the loop is pretty much all i need

and for the short time i tested one an Axe Fx , hopefully getting one soon through a trade

micro cube.

unless you are an idiot like me, and have your upstairs bedroom full of gear and sleep on the couch in the living room downstairs.

not really designed to be a bedroom amp, but my Uber Rev 2 sounds great at very low and low volume. i wish my old dual rec had the gradual volume taper that the bogner has.

For me I have used all my amps at low volumes. I found when I had my '66 Fender Champ that I didn't practice any software, it was just easier to keep the volume down and to dial in some natural tube breakup at a reasonable volume. Since I get most of my gain from Multichannel amps or pedals, the Champ didn't really help me out.

I would like to get one of those Vox amp plugs and just try it through headphones....

I love my Jet City 20 watter through the JCA 112. Killer sounds for budget prices. But the HK Tubemeister is calling out to me!

Built in power soak for 18 watts down to 1 or even silent for recording. $599 bones.

Peavey 6505+ 1x12 and an MXR 10 band EQ. Perfect for low volume bedroom jamming.

Dammit, I've been trying to hold off ordering a JCA22h just to see how people really like them. Want to use one live and try to keep the stage volume down a hair. Not sure I can wait much longer, ugh...

Damn you people and your amp threads! :gethim:

The face plate I did my self but the amp was made by Dave at
http://baroncustomamps.com/

It uses (3) 12AX7 preamp tubes and (1) 12BH7 tube in a Push/Pull AB1 configuration.

The amp has 2 gain Modes or channels Vintage and Modern.

The Vintage Mode will go from clean setting at low gain settings to crunch tones at high gain settings.

The Modern Mode is the high gain mode and will take you into very heavy tones at high gain settings.

Mode gain modes have separate Gain controls and Bright Switches.

The Modern gain mode has a “Wet/Dry” switch that effects how tight or open and saturated the gain is. The Dry setting is very tight with less gain and the Wet setting has +3dB more gain and is more saturated sounding.

The Amp has a global tone stack, Treble Mids and Bass and a Master Volume control.

There is a Brutal/Brown voltage switch on the front that changes the amps voltage by 70 volts to give you a warmer brown sound or a more focused tighter sound.

Speaker impedance selector 4,8,16 ohms.

Compensated Line out allows you to have the entire amp signal including power amp tone available at the Line out Jack. Also there is an internal dummy load when the speaker jack is unplugged so you can use the amp as a preamp into another amp or a direct recording interface.

The amp puts out about 6.5 to 7 watts in the higher voltage mode.

Blackheart little giant, (5 watts) modded by jerry/Surreal
Jose style pull boost master, tone slope switches.....
Alone, sounds awesome!
I push it around sometimes with...
Pedals, (tube driver, MXR, etc...)
rocktron pre's.....
Into a two twelve.
Or my lil 8' cab....

I use my trusty 1978 2204 (first Marshall ever) and one Celestion greenback in a homemade cab. I can have it on zero and still get yelled at.

Either of my Friedman modded Marshall's sound killer at whisper volume as well as arena level. I practice at 5:30am every morning (I know....) and I get great tone without waking anyone up. These amps work so good at low volume I have to remember to turn up when I play at church :)

Honestly... Peavey Audition Chorus. Yes, the true stereo, 10w, SS, dual 6" speakers one.

Love it so much, I bought a back-up. Travelled on the road with me for over a decade. One has been removed from the cab, popped into a smaller headcase I made for it, and speaker leads wired to jacks. Output (currently) feeds a 2x12 with greenbacks, while the second remains (mostly) stock; I went over both fixing cold/faulty solder joints.

I have used this live before, out of its cab and racked, but using the preamp outs to feed a power amp and two 4x12's. "It works for me" :) It is one of those amps that *most* would find horrid, but it sings for me for some reason. A guy who was a local "guitar god" to me hounded me after seeing my band one night, asking how I got "..one of the most incredible sounds.." he had heard. It was... flattering, fascinating, and quite comforting. He was dumbfounded, and reasoned it was "all me, not the equipment." Second greatest compliment ever for me

Use all my amps, just at "bedroom volume." More than the others though-I use Mark V.
