Why did Guitar Center drop the price on the Silver Jubilee?

Prolly because MF is the one that cut the big order from Marshall causing them to be stuck with a large inventory.

Hence the sale.

They're prolly going to loose their ass ...

Ordered one from Sweetwater. They dont have the 15% off (sounds like MF no longer does either) but at 36 month interest free I had to do it. Been wanting a Marshall forever and im pretty damn excited!
Im hoping the 412s drop in price at some point but it should sound great with my old 1960B
Jubes are like any other Marshall in that they sound great with the normal suspects..GBs, 65s, 75s but especially older 75s, and EVs. But as a bonus, they also sound great with V30s..which I usually don't like with any Marshall.

Well, just pulled the plug. My sweetwater rep told me they have more coming in but have been discontinued.

For real? I was going to cancel my order, but... discontinued?

I called MF yesterday and they told me that they have been discontinued as well. They have one more shipment coming in , but they have all been pre sold

Wow. Interesting! That's too bad, they really are great amps. Those of you that grabbed one got a great deal!

Knock off $150 bucks retail and everybody is a Jube fan eh ...

Well, while everyone might not be a fan of this circuit, everyone knows the legacy and knows a good deal when they see it. It doesn't hurt that there are some incredible clips out there of both the original and reissue for those who haven't played one and that there are quite a few notable players who swear by it.

I've been wanting a Marshall forever and have been seeking out a good DSL and even considering buying a modified JCM2000 (always been a fan) but saw this deal at the right time. :)

It actually dropped twice. These were 1899 when they were first released and only recently dropped to 1399 before this latest drop. Even if it's not the sound for someone it's a screamin deal. Would be like having the opportunity to buy a brand new Boogie Mark for 40% off.

Brand new, 100w Marshall that's made in England not Vietnam or wherever.

Unless you aren't a Marshall fan, or just don't like the sound of a Jubilee you'd be an idiot not to think this is a STEAL.

The new DSL is buzzy piece of garbage compared to the 2555x. Old JCM 2000s are much better, but still fall short of the 2555x IMO.

I gigged a 50w DSL 2000 for 4 yrs. When it wasn't in the shop lol.

Yeah i can see that.

I look at amps this way for $1200 bucks i can have a JMP Marshall if i get something else cheaper i consider it a deal.

40 years of gear has taught me that Jubes will be floating around like everything else.

My local shop has an original 2555 head & cab sitting up there now with the Big iron for about the same price. [for the head]

Didn't try to double-post earlier..

Anyway I got mine today and after playing for a couple hours I can say this is my favorite amp. I love this thing. I know there's some honeymoon effect going on but it just flat out rocks. Great clean, rhythm clip sounds great and the lead channel kills. It really loves the V30/75 mix in my Boogie cab. I definitely think I'm missing out by not having a dedicated V30 cab or even a V30/GB mix. My ecstasy and now the Jubilee would both sound much better through one.

Bottom line is that it just sounds right with the V 30. There's no fighting or tweaking, just playing. At least for now

Really glad you dig it!

Now, wait till you start playing with different power tube combinations.. :D

Not buying it. You just said the exact same thing to me bout our weekend up in broke back mountain.
That hurts bro....
Hurts ....

I ended up canceling mine on back order. It was a great deal, for sure. I played my Henning Cherry Bomb and Cameron modded 1987X and nothing can touch the Marshall tone in those two; I've got Marshall covered. Still a great deal for those that got one.

Dude that was real. You're still my favorite

I am so close to pulling the trigger on one of these, but really cannot justify it.

Those are sweet amps and I've always wanted a Cameron. This 2555x was perfect timing for me. I was on the hunt for one in the classifieds for awhile (or a good DSL) and I was pretty much trying to get this sound from the Red channel of my Ecstasy. Now I can appreciate that amp more for what it does well while the Marshall can do its thing.
