Why do most newer Marshalls suck?

Does anyone think maybe they are scared to re-introduce older style amps incase they get slammed for not being as good as the original? Almost like admitting they can't "build 'em like they used to"

I like the 2000-era DSL and the two channel JVM well enough but it would be nice to see them build a proper "modified" Marshall. I honestly can't believe they didn't come up with a regular production Jose mod type of amp in recent years. They've been absolutely blowing up for the past 5-6 years and several builders have made a solid living (and some, a fortune) based solely on the design.

Every Marshall that I've played through that was made after 1972 sucked. Once I played through a Boogie, it was all over for me and Mr. Marshall.

its 6 years later
whats the deal?
IMO, this thread could've been started in the 70s and necrobumped every few years since...if there were interwebz back then that is. It's like the phrase; "The youth of today blah, blah, blah"...ancient Greeks said that.
Re-reading this it almost sounds like I was saying newer Marshalls suck but I wasn't...I was merely saying that people have been saying 'newer Marshalls suck' since the early 70s. And they were accused of sucking because they were cheapening construction and trying to lower the bottom line.

Those first PCB Superleads? People said they sucked.
The JCM800? Sucked.
The Jubilee? PLEEZ it's got a Rat pedal shoehorned in there! THE suck.
And so on.

I'd take any of those suck-ass Marshalls now, and quite a few more.

The VM is also a very good amp, let's hear a professional playing one....... ;)

Terrible tone, even chorused :aww:

I like Gilbert, but as usual his sound is disappointing.
