No one should be banned for saying they don't like some music. That's just retarded. It doesn't offend me if someone on here thinks something I like is garbage. Why do people take things so seriously and personal? Not all of us are going to like the same things and that's good. But we should agree that Creed and Nickelback, are not good.

It's not that the music is garbage; or that people like it.

that's not the problem

It's that it's clearly manufactured by the industry to make it popular and "happen," even though it's incredibly shallow and uncreative, artistically, and everyone feeds at the slop trough like pigs

Someone posted some awful stuff over there once. I called it meth jazz and mocked them for saying the whole "you just don't get it" crap and caught a ban. I don't understand it, but most people can't handle a straightforward opinion that contradicts what they believe. Instead of shrugging their shoulders and moving on the boomer youth, and I call them youth, because most of them never mentally made it past 12, can't handle it without exploding.

I agree that creed and nickelback are horrible but nickelback wins in the absolutely abysmal rock band category.
Well it's not Scott Stapp's fault he only had a 4 note range. If you had a cro magnon jawline like that, you'd have limited singing ability too.

Well, not sure I understand completely, but if it was just manufactured to become the next popular thing, then that is depressing. What does that tell you about the state of music these days? It's like everyone is desperate for something new and fresh, even if it's not so new and fresh like you state. I'm not really the expert on this kind of music, as it's new to me and I have no idea who they are copying.

It's "math rock" which is an extension/evolution of midwest emo. It's not just the genre that makes it that way though, it's the way "guitar music" has been co-opted by a certain type of fan/person

That is true. I once dated a girl and I said, "I love this Pink Floyd song..." and then she said, "Really? It sounds so unexciting to me.. like old man music." My heart sank a bit. We later realized we were not mean to be, and that disagreement on Pink Floyd was probably a sign. But, there comes a point where you have to mature and separate your ego from that sort of thing. No one is going to care anyway -- life moves so fast that no one is going to remember in a few weeks or months.

Also, @DanTravis62, I never knew of "math rock" before. Learned something new today.
