Are the M68 MXR Univibe pedals any good?

I bought my Roger Mayer in 90's. It's actually my favorite modulation pedal.

I thought the Voodoo Labs was great for the price. The Fulltone is nice too.

If you ask me when it comes to modulation the Phase 90 is really all I need.

I own the Rotovibe is has a similar circuit to the MXR Univibe and it’s great for using in high gain. It will get you the same effect as Zakk Wylde, Jerry Cantrell or Mike Mcready. For Hendrix style Univibe and if you money I would look elsewhere.

I like the Fulltone Deja vibe, but I find the Lovepedal 'Magicboy' (not the pickle vibe) is the best compact vibe pedal for me. It takes up less real estate than the bigger vibe pedal and it sounds great. One knob - easy af. Great for Hendrix/Gilmour vibes.

The Rotovibe is fun and has some cool tones, but I hate the tone suck, the size of it and I wish it had more range and tweakability. It just nails the Zakk/McCready/Cantrell/Live univibe sounds. And it's literally the 'Bleeding Me' vibe tone.

I wish someone would re-do it in a smaller and better format. Same with the H&K Rotosphere.

Got a bunch of others over the years through a vibe addiction. Still yet to take the leap on a RM VV+ but this thread isn't helping me restrain.

Kingtone is cool, it's two vibes in one. You can have one set fast, the other slow and switch between them. Or you can have one set to chorus (vibe effect) the other set to vibrato. Very cool pedal. I actually preferred the version one of the pedal but I traded that in on version 2. Took me a little more to get than one dialed in but I've found the sweet spots for me.
That guy makes awesome pedals for sure. I have an Octaland of his and it is killer.

This is what I ended up buying. I kept going back to these videos on YT. I love my Lovepedal echophonics and the EQ he designed into the Vibronaut is pretty useful. I felt it does what I want with some tweaking ability and it was about the cost of the MXR. I guess I'll see if I like it more than my old Fulltone Vibe. :2thumbsup:
