I raced from about 1980/81 til about 1984 but was done racing by 1985 or so. It was huge where I lived and there were a few racetracks and the BMX bike to have were the Redline bikes or the PK Ripper aluminum frames. I rode a Mongoose chrome moly bike which was heavy compared to the Redlines but it was tough as hell and I never bent that frame no matter how bad I wrecked. My race number was 00.

In one race one of the rich kids with the best of everything Redlines wrecked in front of me and I rode over his Redline and I bent the shit out of his frame...................he was pissed.....shit happens.........don't wreck right in front of me....:dunno: that was the one plus to the heavier Mongoose frame.:2thumbsup::LOL:

I did alot of stupid shit on that bike and survived it all....................:dunno::doh:

Those are good memories guys, thanks for bringing them up!

Yeah the Roger DeCoster was the same bike as the Mongoose just with an oblong hole rather than a round hole where the frame and forks meet. And yes it was heavy as hell. I never raced with that bike, it was simply too heavy. I actually got into freestyle before I started racing so by that time my bikes were already modified to be as light as possible.

Fake.

That's pretty much my racing timeline before cars and guitars took over. I actually raced a few times on a Huffy 🤮 then got a nice Mongoose for Christmas, Z-Rims and all. Once I learned about Hutch, I had to have one and that was what the majority of my racing was on. It was also my mode of transportation. We went everywhere on our bikes.

Is this really what MAGA VOTED FOR. The Armada cost the US taxper 10-18 Million dollars per day to maintain...........WTF!

Maintaining a significant U.S. naval presence off Venezuela costs
millions of dollars daily, with estimates ranging from $10 million to over $18 million per day, depending on the specific ships deployed, including high-operating-cost assets like aircraft carriers (around $6.5M/day) and destroyers (around $2M/day). This expense covers fuel, crew, maintenance, and munitions for operations aimed at counter-narcotics and pressure on the Maduro government, with costs quickly accumulating into hundreds of millions

Cost Breakdown (Examples)

  • Aircraft Carrier Strike Group: Roughly $6.5 million per day.
  • Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer (e.g., USS Jason Dunham Around $2 million per day.
  • Wasp-class Amphibious Assault Ship (e.g., USS Iwo Jima Between $1 million and $3 million per day.
Total Estimated Costs:

  • Some reports suggest the total daily operating cost for the naval force in the Caribbean (focused on the Venezuela region) is at least $18 million.
  • By late October 2025, this deployment had already cost over $600 million
