Ohhhhhhhh Fuck yes!!
I taped that show when MTV 1st aired it before they got 'big'...
we used to watch it every day in High school!
me too!!!

wore that tape out trying to learn slash's licks!

That was the concert that broke me away from the Thrash metal scene a bit.
So damn FRESH!!!
Wasnt metal....wasnt really rock...just kick ass music!
Still is to this date. One of my all time fave cd's.
Damn near say top 3.

When I hear about Slash this and that it harkens my thoughts back to a colleague of mine who said they saw GN'R in concert quite a while ago saying that he was so bombed that he kept on screwing up that show and was a disappointment. Still find that Appetite album one of the best hard hitting, heavy metal albums from beginning to end.

i dont think this is one of slash's better shows though....

i can't help but notice too, his almost clean tone with lots of power and volume..but not a lot of distortion.

something else occurred to me watching this....izzy was a bad ass!

I just watched this last week. They were all like 26 years old there... Kids on top of the world. Don't you feel like a loser now?

They had fucked up lives tho, which is what helped drive them to the top. If they had structure, they never would have went all out.

I seen the same tour at Riverbend in Cincinnati, OH.. GNR (everyone exept Axl) went to the Killer Dwarfs and Smashed Glady's show the night before at Bogarts in Cincinnati. There was like 100 people there.. That was quit an evening and story to go with it. Slash was blitzed that night, he leaned against a wall the whole show on the balcony with a roadie watching over him. Nobody even bothered him for an autograph (that was then).. Steven Adler was cool as hell. Izzy and Duff made the story interesting though...It consisted of a Korona bottle, other objects, and a groupie  . If you ever meet any of the Killer Dwarf guys or know them..run that story by them...they'll get a kick out of it. I was the one that threw the Korona bottle on the ground, after I realized it's journey..  . The new Slash record is awesome!

I was at the show right after this when they joined the Aerosmith Pump tour and opened for Aerosmith at Great Woods outside of Boston. They killed it on their opening night on the tour. Best show I have ever seen.

Gilby Clarke was badass to :) I even liked "Electric Angels" catchie songs way back before he joined GNR after Izzy departed...

Slash is on fire on Apocalyptic Love.. I just picked it up last week.. Much more then I expected...he even shreds :) It's monster riffaged and groved to the core

but then it wouldn't be a GNR show...

I saw them when they opened for Crue on the Girls Girls Girls tour...just a bit before this show....and it was so horrible we hung out by the concessions until they were done....nothing even remotely like you see in this video....left me with a slanted opinion of them ever since...gotta admit that is a killer show in the video though!!

Buckethead was part of the mid 2000 line up. I got better to go and when I heard he was there I went for it. He rocked the show like no other could. And lolfink.

Yeah, I heard they really sucked on that tour. I caught the Crue tour when Whitesnake joined to open. I was kinda bummed that it wasn't gonna be Guns, but from what I heard, I only missed a shit-show.

same here. saw crue/whitesnake. had no idea who guns were yet though.

Same here except I was a year out of high school. Brings back a lot of memories.

They was terrible when I seen them open for Aerosmith. It deeper into the tour at the end of August. I kind of expected it from their conditions and actions the night before. This video and the show Brad saw..they was on their game I'd say at the begining of the tour. Even Led Zepplin had some bad shows from their hangovers and etc.. So I took it with a grain of salt. I even say a bad Iron Maiden show once with Anthrax..once! hehe.. Badlands was one of my favorite live bands and Dio with Vivian. Vivian, Jimmy Bain, and Vinnie Appice are gonna tour next year playing Dio songs. That will be interesting. I never quit understood why Ronnie and Vivian had a falling out. Both are two of the nicest guys I'd met over the years.

I'm in the "original line up only" camp...that band in 2000 wasn't GNR to me

MTv aired this concert back in the day .. I taped in on vhs about 5 years ago i was going though a few boxes at my parents house and found it and a danzig video
