Used DSL50, and 1960A cabinet. Well under $1000. I think bang for buck goes out the window with $2500 budget.

This. I was expecting to see under $1k budget, and a million 5150 recommendations.

Best "bang-4-the-buck" amp?

BOSS Katana head.
Roland GA-FC foot switch.
Bugera 412TS cab.

Total: $750 :D
Ok. You own one, so I'll throw this one out there...

Crate Stealth 50 Combo $150.00
Used beat marshall 1960 cab $200.00
Intellifex and midi mate $150.00

$500.00 total.

Fryette Sig X and Marshall MF400 cab. $1600 TOPS and you have enough left over for a closeout 2017 Gibson SG!

Yeah, Peaveys are probably best bang for buck out there. I'll take a $400 Triple XXX all day long!

Good points by everyone....This forum is fun....I know 2500 is a ton to throw at an amp...I shouldn't have used "Bang for your buck" as my lingo...lol

( At the $2,500 price-point... "bang for your buck" goes out the window. )

You are at the corner of "Professional Street & Boutique Avenue".

I was talking "new" gear you can buy at a store.
Old used stuff is a crap-shoot. Good luck finding it. Good luck that it's not broke or trashed when you get it.

Nothing wrong with used gear if you know what you are doing and have some confidence in the seller.

I was going to say I think a used Splawn Quick Rod is a great bang for your buck in the $1,000 - $1,200 range.

But yeah - the 'cheap' best bang for your buck threads are more fun

Right. Get it. That's why one uses GC.com and has a 45 day return policy no questions asked.

^^Btw all of what I listed above, were all bought at GC.com for those prices a few years ago. My kid got the 1960 cab, I kept the Intellifex and I flipped the Stealth for 3-400 bucks.

It's funny, I was actually very curious how many people would side with small boutique amps over larger name brand counterparts...

I think I have my answer.....Find the right one and stick with it!
